How You’ll Make an Impact :

  • Design, implement and document control systems for various types of automated equipment. 
  • Conduct the electrical/hydraulic pneumatic design, peripheral device programming, machine PLC programming, coordinate the machine debug, power-up, and machine validation with the appropriate build and electrical teams. 
  • Ensure that equipment is designed and programmed to customer and/or JR Automation build specifications using standard techniques and approach.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree from 4-year College or university in related engineering field, or equivalent experience, calculated as two (2) years of relevant work experience for each year of academic study.
  • At least 3 years of related experience and/or training 
  • Exposure to industry, an equivalent combination of education or experience.
  • Experience with PLC's, HMI, Robot, AutoCAD, Motion Control, Pneumatics, Hydraulics, and/or Vision Systems 
  • Current or prior JR Automation experience, or experience in the automation industry is strongly preferred
  • Travel to customer sites for installation and startup of equipment; up to 25% travel expected yearly.

  • Intermediate understanding of electrical circuits
  • Electrical panel design experience
  • Pneumatic design knowledge
  • Hydraulic design knowledge
  • PLC programming experience
  • HMI development experience
  • Robot programming experience
  • Experience with VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives)
  • Experience with servo applications
  • Experience with device communication networks (DNET, ENET, Profibus)
  • Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Ability to interact professionally with customers and maintain positive relationships under pressure
  • Current or prior JR Automation or automation industry experience
  • Travel up to 25% (domestic and international)
  • Must successfully complete a 10-panel drug screen, physical examination, and background check
