Tasks and Qualifications:
The Product Engineer Controls main responsibilities are:
- Develops planning of detailed product development objectives.
- Guides preparation of sketches, design layouts, and other specifications.
- Develops review of results to determine that products perform in the intended manner.
- Develops prototypes for testing and provides technical assistance on design feasibility.
- Develops standardization of materials, components and assemblies.
- Develops and maintains detailed and comprehensive records of all inventive ideas, designs, and basic improvements.
- Guides documenting of product issues for future reference and problem resolution.
- Guides the review of product designs to ensure designs and/or revisions avoid infringements of patents that are not controlled by the company.
- Responsible for PLC/HMI code development, code installation, debug on job site, and documentation.
- Active role in the creation of new automated systems as well as the optimizing of existing ones.
What are we looking for:
- Strong focus on quality through simulation, analysis, verification, and validation testing
- Advanced troubleshooting and analysis skills are needed to resolve complex development and field issues and to improve overall performance and cost.
- Must have at least 5 years of experience in the field of automation engineering
- Must have at least 5 years of experience in SIEMENS Simatic PLCs and HMIs (Siemens Step 7, TIA Portal, WinCC)
- Familiarity with regulations and standards such as RoHS, REACH, UL, NEMA, IEC, ANSI
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or Automation Engineering or equivalent field
- 5 years of experience with drives (Siemens, SEW)
- Experience with controls network setup and commissioning such as Ethernet, Profibus and Profinet
- Experience with Autocad Electrical and Siemens NX is a plus
- Strong leadership and analytical skills
