About Kent Moore Cabinets

For over fifty years, Kent Moore Cabinets has built custom cabinetry the way it was always meant to be built — by hand, with patience, and without shortcuts. Behind every finished piece that leaves our design centers is a production team that keeps the shop floor running, and we're looking for a Controls Engineer who takes the same pride in keeping our machinery running that our craftsmen take in their woodwork.

The Role

We're hiring a Controls Engineer to maintain the automation and control systems across our production facility and to find real, lasting solutions when equipment issues threaten the line. This isn't a role that only reacts to breakdowns — we want someone who digs into recurring problems, improves how our machinery performs, and helps our production team run at its best day after day.

What You'll Do

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair PLC-controlled production machinery and control systems across the facility.

  • Diagnose root causes of recurring downtime and equipment issues — not just patch symptoms.

  • Design and implement production solutions: process improvements, control logic changes, and equipment modifications that increase uptime and throughput.

  • Read and update electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control panel documentation.

  • Program, modify, and optimize PLC logic (Allen-Bradley/Rockwell preferred) and associated HMI/SCADA interfaces.

  • Partner with production and maintenance teams to prioritize repairs and improvement projects.

  • Support installation and commissioning of new equipment as the facility grows.

  • Maintain accurate records of control system changes, preventive maintenance, and project documentation.

What We're Looking For

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience maintaining and troubleshooting industrial control systems in a production or manufacturing environment.

  • Working knowledge of PLC programming and ladder logic (Allen-Bradley/Rockwell preferred; Siemens a plus).

  • Ability to read electrical schematics and diagnose issues down to the component level.

  • Experience with HMI and/or SCADA systems.

  • Strong root-cause problem-solving skills — comfortable owning an issue until it's actually fixed.

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls, Mechatronics, or equivalent hands-on experience.

  • Comfortable working on the shop floor alongside production and maintenance teams.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary: $90,000–$140,000, commensurate with experience.

  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage

  • 401(k) with company match

  • Paid time off and holidays

  • Employee discount on Kent Moore Cabinets products
