Key Responsibilities
- Execute month-end close procedures, including comprehensive review of the trial balance, income statement, general ledger, budget variances, accounts payable, and accounts receivable
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statement preparation
- Prepare quarterly consolidation reports
- Review monthly bank reconciliations and complete monthly cash reporting
- Maintain and update the operating cash ledger
- Post various journal entries, including interest allocations
- Develop and maintain budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections
- Provide financial analysis and reporting to senior leadership
- Maintain strong internal controls and accounting procedures
- Analyze development reports and ensure cost projections remain current
- Maintain depreciation and amortization schedules
- Identify and analyze budget variances across operating properties in collaboration with accounting and property management teams
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 10+ years of accounting experience in the real estate space
