Who You Are

As the Controller/Head of SEC Reporting, you assume a pivotal role in managing the financial operations and ensuring fiscal accountability within OnMed. Leveraging your expertise in accounting, budgeting, and financial analysis, you oversee the accurate recording and reporting of financial transactions. Your responsibilities encompass various aspects of financial management, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger maintenance. You take the lead in developing and implementing robust internal controls, safeguarding company assets, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and accounting standards. Additionally, you play a crucial role in budgeting processes, forecasting, and providing strategic insights to support informed decision-making by senior leadership.

Role’s Responsibilities

  • SEC Reporting
    • Lead the preparation, review, and filing of all SEC reports, including 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, earnings releases, and proxy statements.
    • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with U.S. GAAP, SEC regulations, and internal controls.
    • Oversee the disclosure process, partnering with Legal, Investor Relations, FP&A, and executive leadership to align messaging and maintain reporting integrity.
    • Manage quarterly close and reporting timelines to deliver high-quality filings under tight deadlines.
  • Technical Accounting
    • Serve as the company’s primary authority on complex accounting matters, including revenue recognition, and business combinations.
    • Research, interpret, and implement new or emerging accounting standards; develop internal policies and position papers on complex tax issues for audit support.
    • Provide guidance to cross-functional teams on accounting impacts of business strategies, contracts, and transactions.
  • Internal Controls & Compliance
    • Oversee SOX compliance activities related to financial reporting and disclosure controls.
    • Partner with Internal Audit to ensure strong controls, documentation, and testing around key processes.
    • Identify and drive remediation of control weaknesses or process gaps.
  • Accounting Operations
    • Manage the month end close process including creation and review of supporting schedules and monthly reporting pack. Ensure framework of controls and policies is implemented and adhered to.
    • Develop and maintain a 13-week cash flow model, including forecasting of inflows, outflows, commitments, and payment schedules.
    • Collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to forecast departmental expenses as part of the cash flow planning process, ensuring timely reporting to the CEO and CFO.
    • Oversee regulatory reporting, including tax planning and compliance, ensuring audit processes align with applicable regulatory standards.
    • Oversee and coordinate efforts of external advisors to ensure successful completion of annual GAAP audits and tax compliance activities
    • Mentors the Senior Accountant across all core accounting functions, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, the invoicing process, and other areas.
    • Supervise payroll operations by reviewing the Senior Accountant’s work for accuracy and approving final payroll submissions
    • Maintain job costing function and other financial and administrative systems to ensure accuracy, integrity, and cost control.
    • Evaluate the effectiveness of accounting software and supporting database, as needed.
    • Oversees regulatory reporting, including tax planning and compliance, with a focus on ensuring audit processes align with regulatory standards and requirements
    • Lead initiatives for digital transformation of the Finance function including selection and migration of ERP (NetSuite preferred).
    • Perform such other duties as may be assigned by the Chief Financial Officer at his discretion from time to time.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Solid communication, analytical, and management skills.
  • Strong technical knowledge of GAAP and PBAOC standards and application
  • Solid knowledge of federal, state, sales, and use tax compliance regulations and reporting.
  • Strong knowledge to support due diligence related to potential strategic investments and transactions.
  • Solid communication, analytical, and management skills.
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships with stakeholders and external partners.
  • Ability to execute pristine audits and financial controls.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
  • Must be able to thrive in a changing environment. 

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
  • 10–15+ years of progressive accounting and reporting experience, with significant tenure in SEC reporting and technical accounting roles.
  • Proven experience leading end-to-end SEC reporting processes for a public company.
  • Experience with a high growth technology company with a recurring revenue model.
  • Experience in health tech sector with a recurring revenue model considered a strong asset.
  • CPA required.

Benefits

OnMed provides a competitive salary and benefits package, including unlimited PTO and paid holidays.

The base salary range for this role is up to $225,000 commensurate with the candidate's experience.
