Overview:
A fast-growing Northern California rental company is seeking an ambitious financial professional excited about being a part of a growing private company. Over the past decade the company has opened nine new branches with ambitions for continued growth. We are looking for a strong candidate with a growth mindset that can help us through the next chapter of growth. This position requires the ability to manage a strong accounting department and produce timely and accurate financial reporting. However, the right candidate has the capacity to grow and go beyond the numbers to provide strategic insight.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for internal and external financial statements. Month-end close including reconciliation of accounts and posting of journal entries.
- Maintain compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
- Review and document current accounting practices and procedures, with focus on opportunities for continued enhancements to controls, productivity, and efficiency.
- Manage federal, state, and local tax reporting and compliance.
- Oversee accounting department processes and controls.
- Ensure compliance with 401k rules.
- Preparing timely monthly Profit and Loss statements by branch
- Supervise accounting staff including AR and AP performance and strategy.
- Develop and monitor financial performance metrics.
- Analyze monthly financials and relevant data to provide insight at the leadership level.
- Work with executive team to guide organization strategy.
- Assist in managing banking relationships.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and provide cash flow projections based on changing circumstances to assist with capital expenditures revolving around rental fleet and inventory purchases.
- Oversee total company data, provide relevant reporting from different company systems to assist company in financial decision making
- Oversee merchant services debit and credit card processing and fees
- Perform other duties as requested
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance and/or CPA
7-10+ years in progressively responsible financial leadership roles
Experience with EOS management system preferred
Compensation:
This position offers a competitive salary ($120-150k) depending on experience and qualifications. In addition: Medical, Dental, Vision insurance. Paid vacation, sick, and holiday pay. 401k retirement contribution. Use rental equipment upon availability and approval at a 40% discount.
