RequirementsThe role
As a Controller (Tax), you will take a leading role in managing global tax activities across multiple jurisdictions within a publicly traded SaaS environment. This is a temporary position (maternity leave coverage), offering a high-impact opportunity to drive tax compliance, reporting, and process improvements across the organization. You will work cross-functionally with Finance, Legal and external advisors to ensure accurate reporting.

The day-to-day
- Lead global tax activities, including tax provisioning, transfer pricing (TP), FIN 48, FAS 5 analysis, and oversight of direct and indirect tax compliance.
- Prepare and review tax-related schedules supporting quarterly and annual financial reporting, including SEC disclosures and footnotes.
- Manage relationships with external tax advisors and auditors to ensure timely, accurate filings and compliance across international subsidiaries.
- Participate in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including preparing and reviewing reconciliations and accounting workpapers.
- Support statutory and tax audits across global jurisdictions, ensuring readiness and accurate documentation.
- Collaborate with FP&A, Legal and external partners to strengthen compliance, improve processes, and enhance internal controls.
Ideally, we’re looking for:
- Strong hands-on experience in global tax, including provision, compliance, and transfer pricing.
- Deep understanding of US GAAP tax accounting (ASC 740, FIN 48) and financial reporting requirements.
- Proven ability to manage external advisors and coordinate work across multiple jurisdictions.
- High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, publicly traded or similar complex environment.
These would also be nice:
- Experience in a SaaS or high-growth technology company.
- Familiarity with treasury or cash management processes.
- Experience supporting SEC reporting and global statutory audits.
