Job Purpose

The Contracts & Procurement Trainee will work with different internal departments and external suppliers, giving them broad business exposure and a practical understanding of how a fast-paced commercial organization operates.

The role is ideal for someone who is eager to learn, well organized, comfortable communicating with others, and interested in developing practical skills in procurement, tendering, supplier onboarding, contract administration, and business coordination.

Traineeship Duration: 1 year

Principle Accountabilities

Tendering Support:

Assist with managing RFQs/RFTs, liaising with suppliers, handling queries, and collecting feedback from non-participating suppliers.

Contract Administration:

Maintain organized contract files and support tracking of documentation and follow-ups.

Supplier Onboarding:

Help onboard new suppliers in SAP, communicate requirements, follow up on documentation, support KYC completion, verify details, and prepare onboarding packs.

Supplier Data Management:

Ensure supplier records are accurate, updated, and well maintained.

Audit & Compliance:

Support preparation of procurement documents and ensure proper record-keeping for audits.

Process Improvement:

Assist with administrative tasks, data tracking, and coordination of improvement initiatives.

Procurement Backup Support:

Provide cover for key procurement tasks (e.g., PR to PO conversion, CPO creation) during staff absences.


Requirements
  • Graduate in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Good communications skills with ability to engage with different stakeholders.
  • Organized, proactive, and detail-oriented.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to multi-task and manage several priorities simultaneously.
  • Is willing to learn and take initiative.
  • Has a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.
