ARES Corporation is recruiting for a Contracts Specialist with Government contract experience who will be based at our McLean, VA office. This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule.

The selected individual will be responsible for: 

  • Supporting the general contract administration of prime contracts and subcontracts in accordance with contract requirements, federal/agency regulations, company policies and procedures, and applicable laws. 
  • Drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and executing a broad range of contracts and agreements
  • Completing comprehensive reviews of customer contracts and terms and conditions 
  • Providing interpretation of contract terms and conditions to management and other functional groups.
  • Identifying and managing contract changes, acting as a focal point for internal and external (customer) communications on contract matters and resolving customer and contract problems and issues.

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. 
  • A minimum of three years of directly relevant experience in a contracts management position.
  • Experience in contracting with the U.S. government; experience in aerospace is desired.
  • Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS).
  • Experience with Cost Plus contracts.
  • Knowledge of Federal contract formation and proposal preparation. 
  • Demonstrated negotiation and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong planning and organization skills. Proven attention to detail and the ability to spot errors and inconsistencies.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to work with a team at all levels of an organization, including ability to effectively interact with and engage senior management both internally and externally on key issues during the contract and compliance process.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software, including Word and Excel.
