The opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Contract Administrator to join our Power Projects business, reporting to the Commercial Manager.
In this role, you'll play a critical part in the commercial success of major power and utility infrastructure projects by managing contractual and commercial obligations across the project lifecycle. You will work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Commercial leaders and subcontractors to protect Downer's contractual position, manage risk, administer contracts and support project delivery outcomes.
This is a hands-on role where you'll contribute to project planning, procurement, contract administration, claims management, reporting and project close-out while building strong relationships with clients, suppliers and key stakeholders.
What you'll do
- Manage head contract and subcontract administration, including claims, notices, variations and contractual correspondence.
- Support project teams with commercial strategy, risk management and contractual compliance.
- Review, negotiate and administer subcontractor agreements and supplier contracts.
- Monitor project costs, payment claims, invoicing, reporting and commercial performance.
- Provide commercial advice to stakeholders and assist in the resolution of contractual issues and disputes.

What we're looking for
We're seeking a commercially savvy professional with strong contract administration experience within construction, utilities, infrastructure or engineering environments.
You will bring:
- A degree in Business, Quantity Surveying, Law, Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
- Experience administering construction or infrastructure contracts, including subcontractor management and claims administration.
- Strong knowledge of Australian contract frameworks, commercial principles and risk management practices.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, negotiation and communication skills.
- A proactive, detail-oriented approach with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
