Contract Accountant

We are looking for a temporary Accountant to join our Finance team this Spring/Summer. The Accountant will support the finance and accounting team by performing accounting tasks, including maintaining financial records, processing transactions, and assisting with month-end closing.

You Will:

• Record daily financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll entries.
• Assist in reconciling accounts, such as bank statements, vendor accounts, and general ledger accounts, on a monthly basis.
• Enter, update, and maintain accurate financial data in the accounting system.
• Support the month-end and year-end closing processes by preparing basic financial reports and documentation.
• Assist in generating reports such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Help monitor expenses and support budget tracking.
• Organize and maintain digital and physical financial records, ensuring compliance with company policies.
• Assist in preparing documentation and reports for internal and external audits.
• Contribute ideas to improve the accuracy and efficiency of accounting processes.
• Assist with budget development and forecasting by gathering and analyzing financial data.
• Ensure that accounting practices align with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare and file required tax forms and assist with tax audits and research as necessary.

You Have:

• Familiarity with NetSuite.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles (GAAP).
• Good analytical skills and willingness to learn.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
• CPA certification or eligibility is a plus.
