Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Continuous Improvement Specialist to join the Data Center, Power, and Control Team in Anaheim, CA. This role is responsible for supporting lean transformation and daily management initiatives by ensuring strategies are implemented, and principles/practices/tools are incorporated into the culture and processes under transformation related to productivity, safety, customer value proposition, quality, delivery, cycle, growth, margin expansion, and inventory.
ResponsibilitiesWhat Will You Do?
Lean transformation and daily management implementation:
- Analyze production processes, material flow, labor utilization, and equipment performance to identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity
- Partner with operations, quality, engineering, maintenance, and supply chain teams to identify, prioritize, and execute process improvement initiatives across manufacturing operations
- Use Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and structured problem-solving methodologies to reduce waste, improve process stability, and eliminate recurring operational issues
- Collect, analyze, and interpret production data to identify trends, bottlenecks, process variation, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities
- Support root cause analysis and corrective action activities using tools such as 5 Why, fishbone diagrams, Pareto analysis, process mapping, and failure mode analysis
- Develop, update, and maintain standard work instructions, process documentation, visual controls, and training materials to ensure process consistency and repeatability
- Support the implementation of Lean initiatives, including Kaizen events, 5S, value stream mapping, line balancing, standard work, and continuous flow improvements
- Track and report key performance indicators, including productivity, throughput, scrap, rework, cycle time, downtime, first-pass yield, and schedule adherence
- Support training and coaching of employees in new processes, standard work, Lean tools, and continuous improvement practices
- Monitor the effectiveness of implemented improvements and ensure actions are sustained through follow-up audits, KPI tracking, and standard work compliance
Incorporate Lean transformation and daily management into the culture:
- Assist in identifying ongoing training needs
- Drive Lean culture and behaviors through coaching employees and following the company Operational Excellence system
- Support implementation of the company Operational Excellence system programs to identify focus areas for Lean culture improvement
- Coach and champion the company values to all employees
Track improvements made to provide assurance that changes are effective and sustainable:
- Audit areas after improvements are implemented
- Monitor and report on key metrics
- Provide regular updates to leadership
- Other duties as assigned
Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience supporting Lean/CI activities in industrial manufacturing is required
- Quality Control/Assurance background is preferred
Education:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering or related technical field or High School Diploma with Lean Six Sigma or related certification is required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills for diverse audiences are required
- Ability to facilitate activities and discussions using defined processes is required
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures is required
- Ability to create standard work documents is required
- Must be a self-motivated learner
- Must be able to influence change and lead without direct authority
- Must be able to manage multiple/shifting priorities in a fast-paced, changing environment
- Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment where frequent standing, walking, sitting, reaching, climbing stairs/ladders, and handling tools is required
- Must be able to lift 25 lbs. (40 lbs. occasionally)
- Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, ESD protection, and composite-toe shoes
Must have sufficient near and distance vision, color discrimination, and depth perception to safely and effectively perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation
