SUMMARY  

This position will provide support for Continuous Improvement (CI) efforts and coaching for site Leadership and Employees in their pursuit of the Entegris PACE Values. This individual will help the business develop improvements to strategy, policy deployment, standard work and best practices using recognized Continuous Improvement Tools. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

The following includes a list of primary responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned by the supervisor or manager to meet various business demands. 

  • Participate in the implementation of the continuous-improvement program 

  • Contribute to define the program parameters  

  • Identify areas of improvement 

  • Implement a deployment plan for the continuous-improvement program 

  • Evaluate performance of the project improvements 

  • Maintain continuous improvement project tracking system 

  • Review compliance to the 5S standards for the factory and offices 

  • Maintain various continuous improvement communication formats 

  • Improve policies, procedures, and processes 

  • Identifies opportunities for improvement and defines the issues 

  • Considers current procedures and measures performance  

  • Recommends and implements optimal solutions 

  • Measures observes improvements 

  • Drafts documents and reports 

  • Lead and support continuous improvement and quality improvement projects  

  • Project management, including coordinating internal and external resources, development and adherence to timelines and project reporting 

 

Additional Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following below. 

  • Provide technical assistance and support to our customers on an as needed basis. May include travel to customer sites, teleconferences, etc. 

  • Coordinate with Quality to ensure proper maintenance of work instructions, FMEAs, control plans and other documentation as required. 

  • ISO Compliance 

  • Ensure that ISO documentation (procedures, work instructions, etc.) are up to date for all engineering and maintenance systems 

 

QUALIFICATIONS  

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Demonstrated background in Lean Manufacturing (Must) and Six Sigma analytical methodologies (Preferred) 

  • Strong problem analysis/solving skills as well as verbal and written communication skills is highly desired 

  • Establish Continuous Improvement Experience 

  • Review and design layout of equipment, materials, and workspace according to in-house requirements to optimize production’s efficiency and effectiveness  

  • Review production schedules, engineering specifications, work instructions, control plans and related information to improve manufacturing methods, procedures, and activities  

  • Study operations sequence, human work factors, material flow, project information and related information to reduce waste  

  • Study productivity, to compare daily actual vs. standard output, identify processes bottleneck and recommend methods for productivity’s improvement 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE  

  • B.S. in Engineering field desired (Mechanical/Industrial Engineering preferred) 

  • 3 to 5 years of relevant industry experience 

  • Solid understanding of applicable regulations, safety protocols, manufacturing tolerances and related data 

  • Professional certification, either in Six Sigma or in a related process-improvement skill desired 

  • Effective project management skills 

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS  

  • Ability to read, write, and interpret work process procedures, customer reports, and general business correspondence  

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS  

  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as statistics, fundamentals of plane and solid geometry, trigonometry, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations as well as application to processes and designs 

  • Solid understanding of statistics and application to manufacturing processes including statistical process control (SPC), design of experiments (DOE), statistical hypothesis testing. 

 

PROBLEM-SOLVING ABILITY  

  • Ability to identify and define problem, apply root-cause analysis techniques, and execute a resolution plan 

  • Follow through the entire problem-solving process by reporting and documenting the outcome. 

 

MANUFACTURING TOOLS 

  • Knowledge and capable of applying and customizing Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and Six Sigma to unique manufacturing processes 

  • Solid understanding of statistics and application to manufacturing processes 

  • Understanding of PLC and process control principles 

  • Knowledgeable of basic drafting principles 

  • Knowledgeable of basic manufacturing support systems and processes (Kan Ban, maintenance, CAD, change control, ISO, etc.) 

  • Fluent in AutoCAD and MS Office suite 

  • Familiarity with MS Access or SQL databases

  • Salary in the $109,000K-$124,000K/year range with actual pay dependent on candidate overall skills for the role.
