Essential Duties and Responsibilities – Other duties may be assigned.

  • Lead operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives focused on Assembly Integration operations supporting highly engineered, high-mix/low-volume products. Drive improvements in throughput, cycle time, schedule attainment, labor productivity, and quality for complex assemblies consisting of hundreds to thousands of components. Partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, Planning, Supply Chain, and Quality to optimize flow across customized build environments.
  • Lead value stream improvement efforts within Assembly Integration operations.
  • Improve manufacturing flow for complex assemblies with lot sizes ranging from one-piece builds to low-volume production.
  • Analyze assembly labor efficiency, touch time, queue time, and overall lead-time performance.
  • Apply continuous improvement tools and methodology in the implementation of manufacturing excellence initiatives.
  • Work with all departments to identify potential projects, assess feasibility, and implement solutions.
  • Lead performance improvement initiatives of multiple scale focusing on cost, efficiency, and quality across all departments.
  • Influence and partner with all departments on improvement opportunities including facilitation of Kaizen lean practices and principles.
  • Train and lead cross-functional continuous improvement teams to deliver measurable results
  • Delivers problem solving and lean manufacturing training for key project personnel
  • Coach others in all departments on effective problem solving and CI methods/tools
  • Technical expert in Lean Manufacturing tools and principles including 5S, Visual Management, Standard Work, Value Stream mapping, Kaizen, A3, TPM, Root Cause Analysis, Mistake Proofing, Workstation Design, Ergonomics

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project)
  • Functional knowledge of Minitab software

Desired Education, Certifications and Experience

  • BS in Engineering, Manufacturing or Industrial Field, or industry certification with 5+ years directly related experience
  • 5+ years’ experience implementing and sustaining lean strategies and continuous improvement in an industrial manufacturing environment with high-mix/low volume assembly production
  • Formal training/certification in Operational Excellence Systems, (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.)
  • Proven success leading groups and teams toward quantified achievement of goals.
  • Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proven project management/problem solving skills utilizing structured systems (DMAIC, A3, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of quality management systems ISO9001/AS9100/ISO13485

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or an Industrial field, or an industry certification with 5+ years of directly related experience
  • 5+ years of experience implementing and sustaining Lean strategies and continuous improvement in an industrial manufacturing environment with high-mix, low-volume assembly production
