ROLE OVERVIEW:
We are searching for a Continuous Improvement Coordinator to join our Vreeland plant, where we manufacture steel drums and packaging closures. Vreeland is also the site of our paint factory where we produce inner and outer coatings for our containers.
Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will undertake continuous improvement projects in areas such as Quality and, Safety, as well as stepping into production supervisory roles during times of temporary team absence or volume increases.
This would suit someone with the interest in growing their role to learn our facility and organization, taking ownership of site projects, and learning from our site leaders.
Key Responsibilities
- Research, evaluate, and recommend changes to advance and complex production processes, systems, technology, or equipment to enhance organization's production capabilities.
- Drive service optimization for manufacturing products at a site level.
- Provide input and influence for manufacturing operation excellence, managing advanced and complex operational issues to conclusion.
- Quickly and professionally adapt priorities in a constantly evolving environment based on demand and value.
- Consult and influence material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials.
- Manage and maintain quality control objectives that maximize safety and compliance with company standards and regulations.
- Assist in designing, developing, and implementing quality programs and standards. Communicates quality standards and ensure the plant personnel’s adherence to quality programs.
- Identifies issues relating to products, processes, and quality. Collaborates with the team to resolve identified issues.
- Troubleshoots system-related issues with the quality system and provides product technical support to the plant quality team.
Education and Experience
- Typically possesses Bachelor's degree and experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Fluency both in English and Dutch language
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Takes an analytical approach to complex issues and problem solving
- Ability to manage project/process from start to finish.
- Able to learn and apply newly acquired skills quickly.
- Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local regulations, and ISO 9000 standards is a plus.
- Beneficial to possess knowledge or experience with quality assurance/control in a production setting
