Position Overview
The Continuous Improvement Coordinator supports daily Vertiv Operating System (VOS) activities across two manufacturing sites through hands‑on coordination, auditing, and visual management support. This is a highly floor‑based role, spending the majority of time working directly with production teams to ensure CI processes are followed consistently and documentation stays accurate and up to date.
This position is well‑suited for someone with manufacturing floor experience who enjoys structured work, recurring audits, and partnering with employees at all levels. The role supports a small CI team and focuses on consistent execution of established CI processes in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct weekly 5S audits, track corrective actions, and follow up on overdue items.
- Perform regular Leader Standard Work (LSW) audits and maintain current user rosters.
- Track Tier meeting execution and ensure Tier boards remain complete and current (training matrices, visuals, metrics).
- Maintain visual management boards, including printing materials, updating information, and managing labels, magnets, and signage.
- Support CI workshops and meetings by preparing pre‑work packets, tracking attendance, documenting action items, and assisting with logistics.
- Gather quotes and submit CI‑related purchase requests through iProcurement.
- Maintain a centralized library for CI documents, templates, and standard tools.
- Pull reports from the CI Idea System and prepare basic summaries.
- Take photos, notes, and document findings from 5S walks, audits, and CI activities.
- Partner closely with production, quality, and leadership teams to support daily CI expectations.
Qualifications
Required:
- 1–3 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, with regular time spent on the production floor.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Comfortable communicating with hourly employees, supervisors, and leadership.
- Organized, detail‑oriented, and able to manage recurring tasks and audits with consistency.
- Willingness to stay engaged on the production floor for the majority of the workday.
- Able to adapt to changing priorities while maintaining routine deliverables.
- Ability to travel between two local manufacturing sites.
Preferred:
- Experience supporting or participating in 5S, Lean, LSW, Tier boards, audits, or visual management.
- Background in roles such as production support, audit coordination, quality support, safety coordination, or CI support.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish).
Physical & Environmental Requirements
- Frequent walking on the production floor; occasional standing during audits or meetings.
- Must follow required PPE and safety protocols.
- Work performed primarily in an active manufacturing environment with limited desk time.
Skills Required
