Project Background:

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Emergency Preparedness & Response Operations (EPRO) directs and coordinates CMS programs for emergency preparedness, response and recovery, and continuity of operations. EPRO works with the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), other federal departments and agencies, beneficiaries, health care providers, and other stakeholders in carrying out these programs. Internally, EPRO works with the Office of Strategic Operations and Regulatory Affairs (OSORA) regarding CMS essential records management. EPRO establishes policies, procedures, and strategic and operational plans, provides situational awareness, and conducts training, testing, exercises, and evaluations to ensure CMS' preparedness and workforce readiness to respond to natural disasters, human-caused incidents, and public health emergencies.

Position Description:

The Continuity Support Lead reports directly to the Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Lead and will support business continuity and COOP planning efforts.

 Required Skills:

  1.  Must have at least five (5) years of related experience in Continuity planning and programming.
  2. Experience in the establishment and support of BCP development.
  3. Experience coordinating and organizing BPA and BIA cycles.
  4. Education and experience in Devolution and Reconstitution training, development, and administration.

Desired Skills:

  1. Advanced knowledge of business continuity, disaster recovery, all-hazards, COOP, Devolution, Reconstitution, risk assessments, hazard vulnerability assessments, and training and exercises.
  2. Knowledge of the production, management, and maintenance of Federal policy and guidance
