The Role

Content Marketing Specialist

Reporting to the Principal Content Manager, this role will provide strategic and tactical support for content efforts at Sumo Logic including blogs, webpages, emails, and ads. The successful candidate will bring copywriting horsepower and a keen eye for edits, delight in wordplay, meticulous project management, and an interest in cutting-edge technology. This contributor will handle ongoing editorial calendar, content writing and editing support across the organization, and ensure consistent content and messaging.

Key Responsibilities:

Write high-quality content pieces including case studies, blogs, webpages, infographics, emails, and more
Edit and proofread content assets to ensure consistency and brand voice alignment
Analysis of key content metrics to identify content gaps and opportunities
Optimization of existing content to reduce editorial debt and improve SEO
Develop an editorial calendar and collaborate cross-functionally to deliver pieces on time
Build content strategies to support integrated campaigns
Be a delight to work with as you inspire team members to continually contribute fresh content


Desired Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

Minimum 2-3 years experience in journalism, content marketing, web management
Exceptional written and oral communication skills
Project management skills (particularly Asana)
Hands-on experience with SEO and web traffic metrics
Understanding of web publishing and content management
Highly collaborative work style to learn from others and build upon their ideas
Deeply curious and open to learning new approaches to content and technology
Passion for technology and telling technical stories in an engaging way
Curiosity to learn the Sumo Logic business and adapt past experiences to Sumo Logic's current opportunities
Preference for an undergraduate degree in marketing, journalism, or a relevant field

The expected annual base salary range for this position is $89,000 - $120,000. Compensation varies based on a variety of factors which include (but aren’t limited to) role level, skills and competencies, qualifications, knowledge, location, and experience. In addition to base pay, certain roles are eligible to participate in our bonus or commission plans, as well as our benefits offerings, and equity awards.
