The Developer Content Team at DigitalOcean is seeking a Content Marketing Manager to support our content strategy and publish content that empowers developers and startups to leverage cloud and AI technologies. You’ll regularly write content for The Wave, our content property for technical decision-makers covering artificial intelligence, cloud education, and competitor analysis content. You'll also work cross-functionally with teams like product marketing and engineering to edit and publish content that educates users on DigitalOcean products and helps them get the most value from our platform.

This role is ideal for someone willing to be hands-on with writing and content management, interested in diving deeper into technical topics, and excited to collaborate across teams to develop resources that help developers and startups succeed.

What you’ll be doing

  • Write compelling short and long-form content, including blog posts, email series, webpage copy, research reports, and customer case studies.
  • Research for and author content pieces on topics such as cloud computing education, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. 
  • Edit and provide feedback on technical content from subject matter experts and other contributors.
  • Collaborate with growth marketing, developer marketing, and other teams on content campaigns. 
  • Support the Developer Content Team on special projects, including research reports and new content launches. 
  • Help maintain our content calendar and identify new content opportunities.
  • Track and analyze content performance metrics to inform content strategy.
  • Publish blog posts and other content in our content management system.

What we expect from you

  • At least 3 years in a content marketing-focused role, with a proven track record of creating high-quality content in various formats. 
  • Ability to understand and explain complex technical concepts in clear, engaging ways.
  • Strong project management and time management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple projects at once and work cross-functionally to ensure deadlines are met. 
  • A passion for writing short and medium-form content, with excellent storytelling abilities and grammatical skills.
  • Experience writing B2B content for technical products or services, particularly in cloud computing or developer tools.
  • Experience writing SEO content and knowledge of SEO best practices
  • An interest in writing for developers and startups on a range of topics.

  • We reward our employees. The salary range for this position is $70,000 - $82,000 based on market data, relevant years of experience, and skills. You may qualify for a bonus in addition to base salary; bonus amounts are determined based on company and individual performance. We also provide equity compensation to eligible employees, including equity grants upon hire and the option to participate in our Employee Stock Purchase Program.
