WHY WE NEED YOU? GLAD YOU ASKED...
The Content Creator & Presenter is responsible for pitching, planning, coordinating, producing, scripting, and presenting video content for all The Weather Network platforms (including TV, web, mobile, and over-the-top streaming). You will be on the frontlines, producing content that is related to the weather and the natural world, which aligns with our Content Strategy. You will continuously innovate new ways of storytelling within an evolving media landscape.
Please note this is an On Call position, on site at our Oakville Office. This means there are no guaranteed hours and you will be called as and when we have work requirements. Also this role is shift based and requires you to be onsite at our Oakville location.
What does it mean to be an on-call at Pelmorex?
On-Call employees are called upon to replace employees on vacation, sick days, stat holidays or unplanned events. This means that schedules can be unpredictable and last minute but we will always make our best effort to schedule shifts in advance. Our ideal candidate is someone who is flexible and willing to work during a number of different shifts. You are ready to go, have a good understanding of your availability and deal well with last minute requests.

WHAT'S THE DAY TO DAY LIKE?
- Present on-camera weather forecast updates for TWN and CBC, including off-air segments and additional requests as needed
- Produce weather-related video content across linear, digital platforms, social media, and connected TV, while actively engaging audiences to enhance The Weather Network's visibility
- Leverage the Baron Lynx graphics system to create dynamic and engaging weather presentation sequences
- Write and voice segments for Force of Nature and provide voice-overs for other editorial content
- Support the Video & Editorial team during Storm Centre, including live coverage for breaking news
- Continuously monitor weather feeds and data to ensure accurate, credible, and timely content production, directly impacting public safety and awareness
- Create compelling content through research, expert interviews, and sourcing b-roll for presentations
- Participate in team meetings and collaborate with the digital insights team to analyze content performance and drive improvements
- Engage actively on social media platforms to enhance The Weather Network's visibility and audience reach
- May be required to contribute to special projects, including feature production and promotional content
- Required to work in the Oakville office for each scheduled shift, including mornings, evenings and weekends
Roles, responsibilities and duties may evolve and change over time based on business needs.
WE ARE HOPING YOU HAVE:
- College diploma or university degree in Communications/Journalism/Television Production Interest and knowledge of weather preferred
- Minimum 5 years of experience in TV and Digital newsrooms, understanding of digital platforms and video influence
- Videography and editing skills are an asset
- Experience with live video feeds
- You have a flexible schedule!
