Whether it's supporting loved ones back home, growing a business across continents, or pursuing new opportunities abroad, we're not just here to move money— we're here to move our global customers forward.
We're looking for builders, reimaginers, and global thinkers who want to work at the intersection of technology, trust, and transformation. About the Role:

At Remitly, customers are at the centre of everything we do, and protecting their interests is fundamental to how we operate. We are seeking a Consumer Protection Manager to support second line oversight of consumer protection across Remitly's operations.

This role focuses on independent regulatory interpretation and structured oversight of consumer protection controls and requirements across regions. The successful candidate will operate autonomously, manage defined workstreams, and engage with stakeholders across Compliance, Product, Engineering, Operations, and Marketing. It requires sound regulatory judgment, strong control assessment capability, and the ability to provide clear, risk-based oversight, support, and practical advice. This role is based in London and reports to the Global Consumer Protection Manager.

You Will:

  • Independently interpret consumer protection regulations (e.g., UDAAP, Reg E, UK Consumer Duty, Canadian FCAC and similar frameworks) and translate obligations into clear, practical guidance.
  • Provide risk-based advice to business stakeholders on the design and implementation of consumer protection controls, policies, and customer-facing initiatives.
  • Conduct structured second line review and challenge of control design, implementation, and monitoring to ensure regulatory intent is met and consumer risks are appropriately mitigated.
  • Assess and document control effectiveness, including clarity of ownership, monitoring approach, and evidence standards.
  • Work with stakeholders on market expansion initiatives, product changes, and regulatory developments, regulatory change implementation, consumer protection education content, advising and partnering on consumer protection impacts and appropriate risk mitigation.
  • Contribute to oversight of scam prevention and broader consumer harm initiatives, including regulatory tracking and review of control effectiveness.
  • Provide structured status updates, escalate risks where appropriate, and represent Consumer Protection in relevant cross-functional forums.

You Have:

  • 5+ years' experience in financial services compliance, legal, or regulatory roles with exposure to consumer protection regulation.
  • Ability to interpret regulation and translate it into practical, actionable advice and oversight expectations.
  • Experience reviewing, advising on, or assessing compliance controls in cross-functional environments.
  • Experience with payments regulation (e.g. US Reg E and UDAAP, UK Consumer Duty, or equivalent conduct frameworks).
  • Exposure to fraud or scam-related controls (advantageous but not required).
  • Experience supporting product launches or geographic expansion in regulated environments.
  • Familiarity with data analysis tools (e.g., SQL).

Our Benefits:

  • Paid Vacation Days
  • Health insurance
  • Commuter benefit
  • Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP)
  • Mental Health & Family Forming Benefits
  • Continuing education and corridor travel benefits
