Job Description

Summary:

In this role, you will lead complex, analytics-driven consulting engagements that help healthcare clients optimize indirect spend, improve operational performance, and achieve measurable financial value. You will serve as a strategic advisor to healthcare executives by translating complex data into actionable insights, driving informed decision-making, and leading large-scale purchased services and indirect spend initiatives. You will oversee multi-workstream engagements, mentor consulting team members, and support business development efforts while delivering sustainable outcomes for clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead complex consulting engagements focused on indirect spend, purchased services, and operational improvement initiatives for healthcare provider clients.

  • Analyze complex datasets, product utilization, contract performance, and national benchmarking data to identify financial value and cost reduction opportunities.

  • Evaluate contract penetration, market share, standardization opportunities, substitution strategies, and utilization trends to maximize contract value and client savings.

  • Translate analytical findings into executive-level presentations, strategic recommendations, and actionable implementation plans.

  • Facilitate discussions with C-suite and senior healthcare leaders to align priorities, influence decision-making, and drive value realization.

  • Serve as Project Lead for advisory engagements by managing scope, deliverables, timelines, priorities, and resource coordination across multiple workstreams.

  • Partner with clients on-site and remotely as a trusted advisor to identify, influence, and implement operational and financial improvement opportunities.

  • Establish strong client relationships through proactive communication, accountability, and delivery of high-quality consulting outcomes.

  • Support business development activities through solution design, proposal support, client presentations, and expansion opportunity identification.

  • Mentor consultants and contribute to capability development, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement across the consulting practice.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant degree preferred.

  • 7 or more years of relevant experience required.

  • Direct experience leading indirect spend, purchased services, or operational improvement initiatives within healthcare organizations required.

  • Experience in healthcare consulting, advisory services, or complex healthcare systems preferred.

  • Proven ability to manage large, multi-workstream consulting engagements and influence executive stakeholders required.

  • Advanced analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and develop actionable financial and operational insights required.

  • Strong executive communication, presentation, and relationship management skills required.

  • Experience developing and presenting strategic recommendations to C-suite healthcare leaders preferred.

  • Demonstrated leadership experience mentoring consultants and supporting team development preferred.

  • Ability to travel regularly and expeditiously throughout the year to meet clients’ needs and timetables.

Estimated Hiring Range:

At Vizient, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances. The current salary range for this role is $117,600.00 to $206,000.00.

This position is also incentive eligible.
