Role
An opportunity has arisen for the role of Consultant – Private Capital Administration & Transfer Agency within the Luxembourg Alternatives team.
This role offers the successful candidate the opportunity to develop expertise across the full private markets lifecycle and work closely with leading asset managers, investors, AIFMs, auditors and other service providers in a dynamic and fast-growing environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Fund Administration & CLIENT DELIVERY
- Manage the day-to-day operational activities and service delivery for a portfolio of alternative investment structures, ensuring service levels, KPIs and deadlines are met.
- Prepare and review capital calls, distributions, partner transfers, and other investor-related transactions.
- Ensure accurate maintenance of investor and fund records within Investran and related systems.
- Review and approve operational deliverables, ensuring accuracy, completeness and adherence to client requirements.
- Respond to client, investor and internal stakeholder queries in a timely and professional manner.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with clients, investors, AIFMs, auditors, tax advisors, and other key stakeholders, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
GOVERNANCE & Operational Excellence
- Perform oversight and review of activities completed by outsourced and offshore service teams, ensuring governance, controls and service standards are maintained.
- Monitor deliverables, deadlines and service metrics, escalating risks and issues as appropriate.
- Act as a point of escalation for operational matters and support the timely identification, resolution, and communication of issues and risks.
- Ensure adherence to Northern Trust policies, procedures and operational controls.
- Support process improvement initiatives and contribute to the enhancement and standardisation of operating procedures.
LEADERSHIP & TEAM COLLABORATION
- Build effective working relationships across teams and contribute to a positive and collaborative working environment.
- Provide coaching and support to junior team members through day-to-day guidance and knowledge sharing.
- Contribute to departmental and cross-functional projects and process improvement activities.
- Participate in training and development initiatives across the department.
Requirements (Qualifications and Knowledge/Skills/Competencies)
- Significant experience in Private Equity Transfer Agency and/or Fund Administration. Knowledge of Investran would be a strong advantage.
- Strong understanding of Luxembourg alternative fund structures, including RAIFs, SIFs, SCSp, SICARs and related regulatory requirements.
- Experience working within a client-focused operating environment.
- Strong organisational and prioritisation skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Demonstrated ownership, accountability and problem-solving capability.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgement.
- Collaborative team player with a proactive and positive attitude.

About Our Luxembourg Office
In 2024, the Northern Trust Luxembourg office celebrated their 20th anniversary, an important chapter in their history. Having opened in 2004 to support one client, they have since grown their client base substantially and increased their headcount significantly, which now stands at over 400.
