ERM is seeking a motivated Environmental, Health & Safety Consultant to join our team in India to support the successful delivery of ERM projects by delivering multiple project tasks or components and building effective working relationships within Division and across technical communities. The role involves delivering EHS/ESG/E&S due diligence for acquisitions, mergers, divestitures, joint ventures, and project finance. Role involves on‑site due diligence, desktop-based interviews and reviews, and translating findings into commercially relevant insights that influence investment decisions. The Consultant will assess ESG/EHS risks and value‑creation levers across sectors, supporting Private Equity, Credit, Infrastructure Funds, and Corporates.

Roles and Responsibilities
•    Work with project managers to plan project execution and deliver client satisfaction.
•    Execute projects with clear visibility of the project objectives, and the benefits expected by the client and ERM.
•    Manage and perform ESG, E&S and EHS due diligence for acquisitions, divestitures, mergers, joint ventures, capital raising and project finance including IFC Performance Standard (IFC PS) reviews.
•    Coordinate ESG advisory projects with support from conception through delivery to client, including identifying strategic direction of the work and assisting supporting team members in project-related tasks
•    Access VDR and complete desktop & field assessments for ESG, EHS and E&S diligences:

-    On-Site Inspections & Observations.

-    Interview skills.

-    Document reviews and discussions.

-    Report preparation

•    Partner with the project manager to develop a detailed sustainability related value creation plans post-acquisition
•    Work with the project manager and PIC to implement value creation plan post-acquisition
•    Develop E&S policy frameworks, ESMS, EHS governance, legal registers, etc.
•    Experience in project management, exposure to consultancy environment, leadership in health and safety aspects of the work
•    Familiarity with financial modelling and quantifying carbon emissions and sustainability related risks, such as modeling financial implications of EHS action plan elements
•    Advanced excel, powerpoint and word skills required 
•    The candidate should be able to communicate well in English (both speaking and written skills) and be open to travel associated with the job.

Requirements:
•    Bachelor’s degree in business, finance and/or sustainability. Master’s degree in environmental management or related disciplines is a plus
•    Expected to have 5 - 6 years of consulting experience, preferably in sustainability, EHS  and finance or having worked on buyside and sell side due diligence
•    Experience conducting or supporting multi-site field diligences, including interviewing frontline workers, identifying operational risks and evaluating on-site controls
•    Ability to interpret permits, regulatory compliance requirements, safety standards, audit frameworks
•    Familiar with M&A, and in particular PE deal environment as a plus.
•    Advanced skills in using Microsoft Office Tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.);
•    Knowledge and/or interest in corporate sustainability, 
•    Curiosity and drive to put in best; try new approaches and be quick to adapt and learn.
•    Experience in proposal and client management will be preferred.
•    Experience in financial modelling and / or carbon modelling will be preferred.
•    Excellent communication and written content development skills in English.

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or sustainability
  • 5-6 years of consulting experience in sustainability, EHS, or finance (buyside/sell-side due diligence)
