Overview
The Mastercard Payment Networks team is looking for a Senior Developer to drive our customer experience strategy forward by consistently innovating and problem-solving. Our solutions are built on the Digital Network Architecture, around Cloud Native principles and in a Scaled Agile Framework. The ideal candidate is passionate about the customer experience journey, highly motivated, intellectually curious, analytical, and possesses an entrepreneurial mindset.
Key Responsibilities• Design and develop scalable, fault-tolerant, and high-performance systems using modern engineering practices.• Build backend services using Java (8+), applying Object-Oriented design, SOLID principles, and design patterns.• Develop microservices using frameworks such as Spring Boot, with a focus on event-driven architecture and reusability.• Translate business requirements into robust technical solutions in collaboration with stakeholders.• Work across teams to ensure alignment, integration, and successful delivery of projects.• Ensure solutions adhere to architecture standards, security, and compliance requirements.• Contribute to scoping, estimation, planning, and prioritisation of work.• Develop and deploy in a CI/CD-enabled cloud environment.• Implement appropriate data persistence strategies (RDBMS, NoSQL) based on system needs.• Enforce coding standards, quality gates, and best practices to ensure maintainable code.• Leverage AI/ML capabilities (e.g., GenAI tools, intelligent automation) to improve system efficiency, or solution innovation.• Drive innovation through Proof of Concepts (PoCs) and adoption of relevant technologies.• Identify technical risks and dependencies and proactively mitigate them.• Communicate technical designs, decisions, and issues clearly to stakeholders.• Deliver commitments within timelines while maintaining alignment with business priorities.• Operate effectively in an Agile, collaborative environment with strong ownership.• Mentor and guide engineers on engineering and design best practices.• Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends through continuous learning.
All About You• Passionate about technology, with strong Object-Oriented Design & Programming skills• In depth knowledge on product development• Strong expertise in Java and Spring Boot. Experience working on Event Driven Architecture/Kafka would be an advantage.• Experience in Online / Real Time Systems development• Experience in CI and CD• Experience in Cloud based development is desirable• Strong Communicator• Quick grasping and learning abilities• Technical Mentoring Skills
