We are seeking a compassionate, experienced, and highly motivated Consultant Community Paediatrician to join a multidisciplinary child health service in the United Kingdom. The successful candidate will provide specialist care to children and young people with developmental, neurodisability, safeguarding, and complex health needs, working closely with families, education services, and social care partners.
Key Responsibilities
Provide consultant-level assessment and management of children with developmental delay, neurodevelopmental disorders, and complex medical needs
Deliver community-based paediatric services, including clinics, multidisciplinary assessments, and care planning
Contribute to safeguarding and child protection services, including medical assessments and case conferences
Work collaboratively with education, social care, mental health, and allied health professionals
Participate in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings and inter-agency reviews
Support service development, audit, quality improvement, and clinical governance activities
Supervise, mentor, and teach junior doctors, trainees, and allied healthcare professionals
Participate in on-call or advisory rotas as required.
Requirements
Minimum 3–5 years of experience at consultant or senior specialist level in Community Paediatrics or related paediatric specialty
Medical degree with completed specialist training in Paediatrics
GMC registration (preferred) — candidates eligible for or in the process of GMC registration will also be considered
Strong experience in neurodevelopmental paediatrics, safeguarding, and community child health
Good understanding of UK child protection frameworks, NICE guidance, and evidence-based practice
Excellent communication, leadership, and multidisciplinary collaboration skills
Commitment to safeguarding, continuous professional development, and family-centred care.
Willing to relocate in the United Kingdom.
