Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a Construction Manager to join us at our Panama City office. The selected candidate will be responsible for providing technical and construction oversight of several concurrent building projects within a larger program, throughout the contracting life cycle from solicitation through final acceptance of contractor’s work and contract closeout.

Your day-to-day will include but not be limited to the following tasks and responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the overall project administration during the construction phase, including goal setting and policy development.
  • Encouraging and supporting a culture of safety on all projects.
  • Assuring work is executed in accordance with the contract as well as good engineering and construction practices.
  • Ensures project execution is aligned with design, budget, and schedule through effective management of subordinates.
  • Manages the project lifecycle from pre-construction planning to final project closeout, encompassing procurement, shop drawing coordination, and construction.
  • Leads complex projects within a program management framework.
  • Ensures seamless coordination across all project phases, from initial planning to final handover.
  • Accepting work based on specified criteria and testing results.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS in Civil Engineering or Architecture + 8 YORE or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Fluent Spanish and Advanced English.
  • Experience in similar positions for mixed-use building projects or programs with over 30,000m2 of total built area.
  • Strong background in project management and the ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders to drive desired outcomes.
  • General knowledge and experience with a broad variety of construction means and methods.
  • Work well within a fast-paced organization who is a self-starter, process-minded, and collaborative.
  • Understanding of design specs and drawings.

Preferred Qualifications

  • BA/BS in Civil Engineering or Architecture, with 15+ years of experience or demonstrated professional equivalence, with Specialization, master's, or doctoral degree in Construction Project Management or Project Management.
  • Experience must be as a Construction or Project Manager for vertical buildings with institutional, cultural, scientific, technological, office, and/or commercial uses, totaling at least 50,000 square meters of construction in the last 10 years.
  • PMP Certificate is a plus.
