The Connectivity Engineer is responsible for verification activities as well as taking ownership of component development of one or several electrical components. Core responsibilities include:
Key Responsibilities
- Lead verification and validation activities for telematics and connectivity systems, both on test rigs and in vehicle environments
- Define, write, and maintain test cases and plan verification activities
- Perform root cause analysis and troubleshooting for reported faults and defects
- Own component development across all lifecycle stages, from concept to release
- Ensure compliance with technical, quality, and release standards at each development phase
- Collaborate closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders to guide and review component development
- Actively contribute to an Agile development environment, managing tasks through JIRA
- Support product documentation, version control, and release processes
- Communicate technical status, risks, and issues clearly to cross-functional teams
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in connectivity, telematics, or automotive electronics engineering
- 5+ years of experience in verification and validation (V&V) activities
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electronics & Communication Engineering or a related field
- Hands-on experience with test planning, test case design, and execution
- Solid problem-solving skills with proven experience in root cause analysis
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments using tools such as JIRA
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Bilingual proficiency in Japanese (JLPT N3+) and English for technical and business communication
