Based in any of our nationwide offices, Howden Ireland is delighted to offer a permanent opportunity for a Commercial Connected Account Executive within our wider Personal Lines team. About the Role:Reporting to the Team Leader, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing our Commercial Connected Personal Lines book of business. The role will primarily focus on policy renewals, client retention and satisfaction, while identifying new business and cross-selling opportunities where appropriate. A key part of the role will be building and maintaining a strong working relationship with the Commercial Handler. The Account Executive and Commercial Handler will work closely together to provide a seamless, joined-up service to clients, ensuring clear communication, effective collaboration and ownership throughout the client journey, while delivering the best possible outcomes for our Personal Lines clients.This role requires strong relationship management, negotiation and sales skills, along with excellent Personal Lines technical knowledge and the ability to manage a portfolio proactively. Key Responsibilities:- Manage and develop the Commercial Connected Personal Lines book of business, ensuring clients receive a consistent and professional service.
- Build a strong rapport and collaborative working relationship with the Commercial Handler, maintaining clear communication on client needs, renewals, referrals and service requirements.
- Act as the primary Personal Lines contact for Commercial Connected clients, building strong relationships and delivering a seamless service experience through close collaboration with the Commercial team.
- Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing clients, ensuring their needs are understood and fostering long-term loyalty.
- Oversee the renewal process for Personal Lines policies, including reviewing cover, obtaining and negotiating terms, presenting suitable options, and ensuring timely completion.
- Evaluate clients' risk profiles and provide clear, expert advice on suitable insurance products and coverage options.
- Proactively identify cross-selling, referral, and new business opportunities arising from the Commercial Connected portfolio.
- Provide exceptional service by responding to client and internal queries promptly, resolving issues, and ensuring a high level of satisfaction.
- Achieve agreed new business, renewal, retention and income targets.
- Maintain accurate client and policy records, ensuring all activities and communications are recorded on the relevant systems.
- Implement the Company’s compliance and office procedures, including New Business Development and Renewal Procedures.
- Remain up to date with market practice and product availability, providing feedback to Management on pricing, service levels and product development.
- Work with other teams across the Group to support training, product development, connected-client opportunities and operational efficiencies.
- Attend client visits with Management or Commercial colleagues as required.
- Adhere to all compliance requirements outlined in the Handbook and Procedures Manual.
- Minimum of 5 years + experience in an insurance role, ideally with responsibility for managing a portfolio of clients.
- Minimum APA Personal Lines qualification or Grandfathered status, with evidence of up-to-date CPD.
- Excellent technical product knowledge and a strong understanding of the Personal Lines insurance market.
- Proven experience managing policy renewals, addressing client enquiries, and delivering high levels of retention and satisfaction.
- Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with Commercial Handlers and wider internal teams.
- Confident communicator who can explain cover, options and recommendations clearly to clients and colleagues.
- Proficient in negotiating terms and conditions to achieve favorable outcomes for both the client and the company.
- Commercially aware, with the ability to recognise new business, referral and cross-selling opportunities.
- Highly organised and able to manage competing priorities, renewal deadlines, and follow-up actions.
