ROLE PURPOSE

Configuration Supervisor

ROLE PURPOSE

The Configuration Supervisor is responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of a designated shift within the Configuration department. The role ensures sufficient resourcing and capability to consistently deliver daily KPIs and SLAs to the required quality standards. This is achieved through proactive operational leadership, effective people management, and strong collaboration across departments to promote a one-team ethos.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Operational Leadership

  • Organise and lead daily shift operations to safely achieve productivity, quality, and service targets
  • Set clear daily direction and priorities for the team
  • Maintain internal and external service levels
  • Work collaboratively with other supervisors and departments to resolve issues and improve workflows

People Management & Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop direct reports through regular feedback, mentoring, and performance management
  • Build bench strength through effective succession planning and talent development
  • Conduct appraisals, return-to-work meetings, and payroll-related activities
  • Support recruitment and onboarding of new team members
  • Manage investigations and disciplinary processes (conduct, capability, and absence - excluding dismissal)

Performance & Continuous Improvement

  • Collect, analyse, and report operational data and KPIs
  • Identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement
  • Champion continuous improvement and process review using effective root cause analysis
  • Drive accuracy, waste reduction, and efficiency improvements

Health, Safety & Culture

  • Champion safe working practices and full compliance with Health & Safety standards
  • Lead by example, promoting professional behaviours and company values
  • Create and sustain a positive working culture focused on teamwork, quality, productivity, and accountability

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Required Experience

  • 3 years' leadership or management experience within supply chain, warehouse, or operational environments
  • Strong people management and leadership skills
  • Proven ability to organise, prioritise, and manage time effectively
  • Confident self-starter with a collaborative, team-focused mindset
  • Proficient in Microsoft O365
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)

Desirable Experience

  • Technical or configuration background
  • Experience applying Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies

Qualifications

Essential / Preferred:

  • University degree or A-Level / GCSE (or equivalent)
  • ITIL V4 (desirable)
  • Lean Six Sigma (desirable)
  • IOSH (desirable)
  • 5S Working Practices (desirable)
