We are seeking a skilled and experienced Configuration Manager to join our team to establish configuration management documentation and procedures and authorize the release of documentation and software in support of large-scale government programs. As a Configuration Manager, you will establish, develop, review, and maintain a configuration management plan for all aspects of the software life cycle including software development, migration, deployment, and security. You will also provide subject matter guidance to other team members involved in the software management lifecycle. This position requires 25% on-site time in King George VA and travel in the Maryland, Virginia, and DC area.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field or relevant work experience
- Secret security clearance
- Six years of Configuration Management experience or related field, preferably in the government sector
- Professional experience and high-level understanding of working with various operating systems and their implications
- Experience managing complex IT projects and familiarity with risk and issue management
- Strong analytical skills and experience with configuration management tools
Configuration Management certification desired
Responsibilities:
- Develop, review, and maintain a configuration management plan for all aspects of the software lifecycle
- Provide subject matter advice and leadership for all aspects of configuration management and report on configuration management activities
- Track and report on software releases through change requests, impact assessment, and version control
- Establish a documentation repository to track and maintain records
- Lead software and code reviews and ensure the configuration management plan is executed
- Define provisions for configuration identification, change control, configuration status accounting and configuration audits
- Foster continuous improvement
- Authorizes software releases
