The Naval & Oceanic Systems business unit headquartered in Annapolis, MD is seeking dependable individuals willing to work in a collaborative environment and that are interested in expanding their horizons.
The Hardware Engineering Department is seeking a Configuration Analyst within the Hardware Engineering organization in Annapolis, MD. The Configuration Analyst is responsible for planning and implementing a comprehensive configuration management (CM) and Data Management (DM) process on major programs in accordance with established CM practices that are based on EIA/649 and customer contract requirements. Job emphasis is placed on planning and coordination of project documentation, such as engineering drawings, production specifications and schedules, and contract modifications, to ensure customer contract requirements are met. Reviews contract to determine documentation required for each phase of project, applying knowledge of engineering and manufacturing processes. Analyzes proposed changes of product design to determine effect on overall product and system. Coordinates modification records for management control. Establishes change orders and prepares for change authorization and documentation by company and subcontractor. Reviews and analyzes released engineering change data and coordinates changes with engineering, quality control, operations, manufacturing, and engineering data control activities. The Northrop Grumman CM tool, Information System for Engineering (ISE) will be used as the system of record for controlling document status and bills of material. The ISE tool is in the process of being migrated to Siemens TeamCenter.
Our engineering work includes full life-cycle programs including design, development, system integration, hands-on test, training, and production. The successful candidate will demonstrate a broad skill set that is balanced between interpersonal, business, and technical capabilities. The successful candidate will have a track record as an effective communicator and problem solver who is able to develop and maintain good working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will also have the ability to operate in a team environment and collaborate across the sector business areas as required to accomplish team goals.
Basic Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree with 3 years of relevant experience; Master's degree with 1 year of relevant experience. An additional 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
· US citizen with active TS/SCI clearance to start. Ability to pass a polygraph.
· Experience with maintaining the Hardware Configuration Management Plan, maintain configuration item(s), change control, status accounting and audit verification.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work within diverse teams.
· Demonstrated ability to motivate teams.
· Proficiency in using common engineering design, production, and office tools (i.e. TeamCenter, Microsoft Tool Set, Concur, CMPro).
· Detail oriented and have the ability to follow processes.
· Experience with supporting the formal delivery of Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) consisting of scheduling, reviewing, and delivering to customer.
· Experience with managing large data repositories of documents and folder structure.
· Experience with tracking the progress of program documentation and release documents that follow program requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Preferred degrees: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, or related fields.
· Ability to pass a polygraph with your current TS/SCI clearance.
· Demonstrated experience configuring, administering, and maintaining SharePoint, a working knowledge of CM Tool(s) with check-in/check-out capabilities (ISE, TeamCenter, CMPro, etc.)
· Establishing and following CM/DM processes throughout project life cycles to maintain consistent configuration control, developing, operating, and maintaining CM database and other process management tools.
· Experience with CMMI Configuration Management Processes (Level 3).
Salary Range: $68,800.00 - $103,200.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
