Join the Team That's Redefining Wireless Technology
At Tarana, we're more than just a fast-growing tech company—we’re a team of bold innovators on a mission to revolutionize broadband. Our groundbreaking Fixed Wireless Access technology is delivering fiber-class internet speeds worldwide, bridging the digital divide in ways previously thought impossible.
Tarana is a fast-growing revenue company built by outstanding, talented people and powered by innovative technology.
The Compliance Team is responsible for ensuring Tarana's wireless products meet regulatory requirements before they are released.
What you’ll be doing:
- Pre-Compliance Testing & Analysis: Drive in-house execution of comprehensive regulatory test plans using Tarana’s proprietary hardware. Perform pre-compliance measurements, analyze test data against target regulatory limits, and document formal results to support internal engineering evaluations.
- External Lab Collaboration: Partner directly with third-party accredited test laboratories to conduct formal testing and official certification tracks for our ngFWA portfolio.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Work closely with systems engineers, RF/hardware engineers, program managers, and the operations team to align and coordinate all compliance activities.
- Certification Preparation & Review: Prepare Devices Under Test (DUTs) for formal outside laboratory evaluations. Review official test data, power tables, and draft/final FCC/ETSI test reports.
- Troubleshooting & Root Cause Analysis: Actively investigate and troubleshoot failing test cases - including out-of-band emissions, EMI compliance failures, and GR-1089 surge/lightning vulnerabilities - to drive engineering resolutions.
What You'll Need:
- Bachelor’s or MS degree (BSc/MSc) in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or related technical discipline.
- 2–5 years of direct experience in RF and EMC regulatory compliance, with specific focus on carrier-grade Fixed Wireless Access (FWA/ngFWA) platforms or outdoor wireless infrastructure (e.g., Base Stations, Access Points, and CPEs).
- RF Testing Expertise: Hands-on experience with RF spectrum parameter testing and configuration, including Occupied Bandwidth (OBW), Transmit Power, Power Spectral Density (PSD), In-band Mask, Band Edge, Out-of-Band Emissions, and Frequency Stability.
- EMC Testing Expertise: Proven experience conducting Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) evaluations, including radiated/conducted emissions, immunity, and surge testing
- Laboratory Equipment: Detailed, hands-on knowledge of spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and network analyzers
- Regulatory Standards: Deep familiarity with global Wireless and EMC standards:
North America (FCC): FCC Part 15E across all U-NII bands, including 6 GHz, and FCC Part 96 for CBRS; GR-1089-CORE (Electromagnetic Compatibility and Electrical Safety), including lightning surge, ESD, and AC power fault testing.
Europe & International (ETSI/EN): ETSI EN 302 502 (Wireless Access Systems (WAS); 5.8 GHz fixed broadband data transmission systems; and EN 55032/EN 55035 multimedia equipment standards.
- Advanced Wireless Systems: Familiarity with operational and testing nuances of next-generation wireless architectures (including massive MIMO, active antenna arrays, multi-stream transmission, and dynamic beamforming)
- Standards Interpretation: Proven ability to translate complex technical standards and shifting regulatory rules into actionable in-house test plans and compliance matrices.
- International Testing: Must be able to generate a compliance test plan for the international market when the regulatory requirements have not been finalized by the Regulators.
A successful candidate will demonstrate the following:
- A self-starter with a strong sense of ownership, outstanding organizational habits, and sharp attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving skills, resilience, and a collaborative team mindset that values innovation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly convey technical regulatory concepts.
What we offer:
We don’t just build next-gen wireless technology — we build people.
The salary range for this position is: $120,000 to $155,000
Compensation will be determined based on several factors, including but not limited to: skill set, years of experience and the employee’s geographic location.
Tarana provides competitive benefits to employees in this role, including medical, dental, and vision benefits, 401K match, flexible time off, and stock options.
Join Tarana and help shape the future of wireless connectivity.

What We Do
Tarana’s mission is to accelerate the deployment of fast, affordable internet access around the world. Through a decade of R&D and more than $400M of investment, the Tarana team has created a unique next-generation fixed wireless access (ngFWA) technology instantiated in its first commercial platform, Gigabit 1 (G1). It delivers a game-changing advance in broadband economics in both mainstream and underserved markets, using either licensed or unlicensed spectrum. G1 started production in mid-2021 and has since been embraced by more than 250 service providers in 19 countries and 41 US states. Tarana is headquartered in Milpitas, California, with additional research and development in Pune, India. Visit our website for more on G1.
