Job Description

1. Chemical & Trade Compliance Management

  • Review and assess legal and regulatory requirements applicable to the company’s chemical products in China and relevant import/export jurisdictions
  • Ensure compliance with regulations related to:
    • Customs import/export controls (HS classification, customs declaration, licensing, regulated goods, etc.)
    • Chemical management regulations (hazardous chemicals, general chemicals, new chemical substances, GHS classification, SDS/MSDS requirements, etc.)
  • Provide compliance assessments and recommendations for new products, raw materials, suppliers, or trade models

2. Documentation & Compliance System Management

  • Establish and maintain compliance documentation, records, and regulatory databases related to chemical and trade compliance
  • Review and prepare compliance-related documents such as regulatory filings, customs documentation, permits, declarations, and compliance statements
  • Support regulatory inspections, audits, and inquiries from authorities or third-party auditors

3. Regulatory Monitoring & Interpretation

  • Monitor updates to Chinese and relevant international laws and regulations, with a focus on:
    • Customs and trade compliance regulations
    • Chemical safety, environmental, and occupational health regulations
  • Interpret regulatory changes and translate them into internal compliance guidelines, procedures, and training materials

4. Supply Chain Compliance Support

  • Support compliance across supply chain operations, including procurement, production, warehousing, logistics, transportation, and import/export activities
  • Collaborate closely with Supply Chain, Procurement, Logistics, Sales, and other business teams to identify compliance risks and implement corrective or preventive actions

Qualifications

Qualifications & Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or above (or equivalent)
  • Preferred majors: Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Environmental Science, or related technical fields

Professional Knowledge & Skills

  • Understanding of one or more of the following areas:
    • China customs and import/export regulations
    • Chemical management regulations (e.g., hazardous chemicals, new chemical substance registration, GHS/SDS)
  • Basic chemical knowledge with the ability to understand chemical properties, classifications, and associated risks

Experience

  • 2–5 years of experience in trade compliance, chemical management, or related roles in chemicals, pharmaceutical or supply chain-related industries preferred (or equivalent)

Language Skills

  • Fluency in Mandarin Chinese (reading, writing, and speaking), including the ability to interpret regulations and communicate with authorities
  • Good command of English for reading regulations and communicating with regional or global stakeholders

Competencies

  • Strong sense of responsibility and compliance awareness
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and risk assessment skills
  • Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities
