What You’ll Do

This position supports new product introduction and sustaining activities for connected smart home security products. The ideal candidate will bring practical hands-on experience working with third-party laboratories in the US and Asia to ensure timely Compliance certification. The individual will work with manufacturing partners, and cross-functional product teams to deliver compliant products on schedule.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Support product compliance activities across new product introduction and sustaining programs, from early requirements definition through certification, production readiness, and post-launch maintenance.
  • Strong hands on knowledge and experience with UL (Underwriters Laboratories) and FCC standards and certification processes.
  • Review and approve pre-certification and certification plans in partnership with internal teams, external laboratories, ODMs, and contract manufacturers.
  • Coordinate issue resolution to help ensure timely completion of product certifications and report issuance.
  • Review product markings, labels, warnings, instruction manuals, declarations, and other compliance-sensitive content for completeness and accuracy.
  • Maintain compliance records and technical documentation in PLM or related business systems in an organized and auditable manner.
  • Assess the compliance impact of design changes, supplier changes, factory moves, firmware revisions, and product updates.
  • Monitor evolving standards and regulations and communicate business impact, timing, and recommended actions to stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in consumer product compliance related activities
  • Hands-on experience working with third-party laboratories and certification bodies.
  • Working knowledge of product safety, RF, EMC, wireless, battery, and environmental compliance processes and documentation requirements..
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects, timelines, deliverables, and stakeholders simultaneously. 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with smart home wireless devices.
  • Experience supporting sustaining compliance, recertification planning, or market expansion activities.
  • Experience working with Asia-based suppliers CMs and test laboratories.
  • Experience reviewing manuals, labels, warnings, declarations, and technical files as part of product release readiness.
  • Proficiency with using a PLM such as Propel
  • Experience with navigating the UK compliance landscape i.e. UKCA, WEEE, etc.

The target annual base pay range for this role is $83,000 to $120,000

This target annual base pay range represents our good-faith estimate of what we expect to pay for this role. We use a market-based compensation approach to set our target annual base pay ranges and make adjustments annually. We carefully tailor individual compensation packages, including base pay, taking into consideration employees’ job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and other relevant business factors.
