Job Description:

The Compliance Analyst position serves as a research specialist performing a wide range of functions related to compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act and New Jersey regulations. This position will have operational responsibilities for accurately evaluating customer information and taking the appropriate action to protect the company against risk of money laundering activity in accordance with law and casino policy in consultation with the Director of Compliance (BSA Compliance Officer). The position is responsible for analyzing complex suspicious activity cases to ensure that potentially suspicious transactions are appropriately identified within the specified timeframes.  

  • Performs audits to ensure currency transactions are identified and reported per FinCEN requirements.
  • Ensures potentially unusual or suspicious transactions are appropriately identified, documented, and Suspicious Activity Reports are correctly completed and filed in accordance with casino policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensures compliance with Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering related laws and regulations and identifies matters of non-compliance and escalates them to the BSA Compliance Officer as necessary for resolution.
  • Utilizes a variety of analytical techniques and computer systems to make informed decisions concerning customer account status.
  • Compiles evidence and documentation in compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering regulatory requirements.
  • Maintains a current thorough understanding of money laundering and terrorist financing issues, including policies, procedures, regulations, industry best practices, criminal activities, and developing trends.
  • Develops and maintains partnerships with user departments to facilitate investigations.
  • Maintains confidential information.
  • Assists in creating and editing Internal Control submissions in accordance with New Jersey regulations.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years banking, compliance or audit experience in Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering and knowledge of Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering requirements.
  • Casino experience preferred but not required.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software, especially Excel.
  • Possess above average verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be highly organized.
  • Ability to work under pressure and possesses strong time management skills. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both in spoken and written form.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other team members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
