NABRICO Marine Products is looking for a Compliance Paralegal to join our team. This position will be based in our Covington, LA office.
As our Compliance Paralegal you will provides legal, administrative, and compliance support to the NABRICO Marine Products leadership team. This role assists with corporate governance, contract administration, regulatory compliance, litigation support, and document management. The Compliance Paralegal will serve as a key partner to internal stakeholders including Legal, Human Resources, Finance, and Operations to ensure the company’s legal and compliance matters are managed efficiently and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
This position requires a high level of confidentiality, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Legal and Contract Support
- Maintain a centralized contract management and tracking system
- Coordinate legal review and executive approval of vendor and customer contracts
- Maintain legal templates and standard contract language
- Manage process for requesting certificates of insurance
- Assist with due diligence, document preparation, and transaction coordination for merger and acquisition activities
Compliance and Regulatory Support
- Maintain corporate and facility registrations and licenses
- Maintain corporate compliance policies and procedures
- Oversee employee compliance training and certification
- Identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and implement corrective action plans
- Screen prospective customers, suppliers and business partners to avoid third-party risk
- Responsible for business records management, including records retention processes to ensure compliance with retention policies
- Support compliance audits
Corporate Governance
- Maintain corporate records; draft resolutions, consents, and board materials
- Support preparation of board and executive materials as required
Litigation and Investigation Support
- Assist in preparing legal documentation for disputes, investigations, or litigation matters
- Coordinate internal investigations
- Coordinate document collection and organization for outside counsel
- Maintain legal hold records and support e-discovery processes
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with HR on employment-related documentation and compliance matters
- Support Finance and Procurement with contract documentation and legal review coordination
- Assist business leaders with interpretation of legal documentation
Qualifications:
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, Business Administration, or related field.
- Paralegal certification from an ABA-approved program preferred.
Experience
- 5–10 years of paralegal or legal support experience in a corporate legal department or law firm.
- Experience supporting corporate governance, contracts, and compliance functions preferred.
- Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or maritime industries is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong knowledge of legal documentation, contracts, compliance and corporate governance processes
- Excellent organizational and document management skills
- Extreme discretion with confidential information
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Experience with contract management or legal document systems preferred
- Notary Public commission
