Your New Role 

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Governance and Risk, Strategy, and Corporate Affairs (S&CA) Domain, the Compliance Manager is a key member of AustralianSuper’s First line Risk and Compliance team for S&CA and will be the key Compliance SME for the whole S&CA function.

This role is responsible for leading the First line S&CA compliance function, supporting the ongoing compliance of the Domain’s regulatory obligations and being the key regulatory and technical SME for S&CA, and the wider fund as it relates to general advice obligations under the Domain Chief Executive’s accountabilities. 

 

Key duties include but are not limited to:

  • Provide and oversee review and compliance sign-off as required for external materials across all S&CA departments to ensure it is compliant with the Corporations Acts, general financial product advice provisions and other relevant legislations. 

  • Provide compliance guidance, advice and sign-off for key activities such as member outcome assessment, annual report, annual members meeting and supporting media relations, investment relations and ESG communications.

  • Motivate and inspire our people by demonstrating commitment to the Fund’s values, decision pillars and leadership principles.

  • Ensure our Members First culture is consistently and firmly embedded across the function. 

  • Being part of a high performing team to support the successful delivery of the Fund’s strategic ambitions, and are innovative, resilient and equipped to deal with ambiguity.

  • Drive a strong service and excellence-oriented culture with accompanying KPIs, within the team and with vendors (where required) and partners.

  • Develop and nurture strong relationships within S&CA and other Domains providing general advice and with Line 1, Line 2 and Line 3 areas across the Fund.

  • Nurture and maintain internal relationships across all levels of the Fund.

     

 

What You’ll Need   

  • 5+ years’ experience in financial services and an understanding of financial products and business processes.

  • RG146 qualification and relevant industry experience is essential. 

  • Strong experience with and understanding of superannuation compliance regulations 

  • Hold an accreditation in Risk Management from a recognised body like Risk Management Institute of Australasia (RMIA) or Governance Institute of Australia (GIA) or be willing to obtain one after joining AustralianSuper.[VZ1] [NO2] 

  • High level of personal integrity as well as the ability to professionally handle confidential matters.

  • Strong people leadership capability, with the resilience, influence and communication skills to motivate performance and contribute effectively across the S&CA Domain.

  • Executive-level written and verbal communication skills. Proven ability to articulate and communicate strategy and concepts to a broad range of technical and non-technical staff and external stakeholders.

  • Ability to develop and maintain high quality interpersonal relationships with stakeholders at all levels, both within and outside the Fund.
