We are seeking a Compliance Manager (CM), to focus on our corporate and fiduciary service business, Ogier Global, in the British Virgin Islands (BVI). The candidate will provide technical regulatory support to Ogier Global teams and entities and will work with and report to the Director of Caribbean and Asia Compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain appropriate systems and controls (including documented policies and procedures) to ensure compliance with relevant AML and Counter Financing of Terrorism (CFT) laws/regulations and carry out testing to test the effectiveness of such on a regular basis
- Provide AML/CFT compliance oversight to relevant Ogier entities (focused on BVI Ogier Global but may extend to Ogier Legal, as required)
- Prepare relevant compliance and AML reports and present such reports as required;
- Support regular audits/testing of the AML/CFT program
- Support the periodic review team on the completion of reviews of client entity files
- Provide technical guidance and support to administration teams and relevant Ogier entities, including the review of high risk clients/matters
- Advise the relevant parties of AML/CFT compliance issues that need to be brought to attention of Senior Management / the respective Boards
- Maintain logs/records relating to specified scenarios such as politically exposed persons (PEPs), and breaches, errors, omissions, and complaints (BEOCs) and Suspicious Activity Report logs
- Stay abreast of current legislation and developing regulatory landscape to advise of all issues relating to operational and compliance matters relevant to client entities and relevant services provided by Ogier
- Ensure existence and awareness of procedures for the reporting of suspicious activity;
- Assist with any regulatory reporting needs which may include preparing and completing filings, where necessary
- Collaborate with colleagues from cross-functional teams, whilst maintaining appropriate independence
- Contribute to business development activity including the delivery of internal product training and undertaking analysis of trends and data
- Assist in the development and/or enhancement of internal operating procedures and policies and assist, as required, in recruiting, training and supervising necessary support staff
- Supporting Ogier's One Best Way ethos across the team through rigorous process analysis to drive alignment and consistency. Contributing towards the business as a whole in identifying process improvements, improvements in policies and procedures and any other service innovation changes that would improve the client experience
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Possess a detailed understanding of local regulatory requirements affect trust company business and fiduciary services in BVI
- Understanding of the BVI legal regulatory requirements is a bonus
- Proven track record in a fiduciary services role
- Must be committed and driven to achieving excellence for themselves and the team
- Strong communication and influencing skills
- Ability to effectively identify and assess risks in a fast paced environment
- Excellent organisational skills

Skills Required
