About your team
The Compliance department's role is to provide an excellent compliance service, promoting a strong compliance culture and reputation of FIL Fondsbank GmbH (FFB) through pro-active management of regulatory and reputational risk, undertaken in partnership with the business, and in the best interests of our investors and customers. This is achieved by providing the business areas with sound professional advice, but also through monitoring compliance with our regulations. Our team cooperates with all 2nd Line of Defense and Oversight functions, has a strong connection to the Management Board and acts as the central point of contact for the supervisory authorities.
About your role
As Compliance and Data Protection Manager your role is to identify, report and manage regulatory risks and thus protect FFB from any risk of being non-compliant. You will pro-actively support the specific business areas with regards to questions how to comply with the relevant regulation. You will as well act as the company’s Data Protection Officer to ensure compliance with all GDPR / Data protection requirements and support all business areas and their Data Stewards in relation to data protection topics. Further focus of the role will be the conduct of monitorings to ensure compliance in all business areas with the applicable regulations.
Your Key responsibilities are:
- Conducting Compliance Monitorings in the business areas of FIL Fondsbank GmbH, in line with the Annual Compliance Monitoring Plan and according to the procedures.
- Supporting the business areas by answering questions and solving problems in relation to legal and regulatory requirements. Interact with other 2nd Line of Defense and Oversight functions such as Risk Management, Central Outsourcing Management, Information Security .
- Acting as the company’s Data Protection Officer and cover all tasks as required by GDPR, e.g. Management of personal data breaches,including assessment if reporting to DPA is required, training of staff and Data Stewards, annual / ad hoc reports to the Management Board, support responses to client complaints in relation to Data Protection and if necessary with the Data Protection Supervisory Authority etc.
- Assisting in external audits.
About you
You are a suitable candidate for the role if you have/are:
- A University degree in Economics / Law or a comparable field of studies.
- At least 2 years experience in Data Protection / Compliance or regulatory services. You gained this experience either in the financial industry or in an audit/consultancy firm with appreciation of the regulatory environment.
- Experience as DPO or Deputy DPO would be a requirement.
- An indepth understanding of the German and European regulation applicable in the financial industry (WpHG, KWG, MaComp, MaRisk, BAIT, MiFID II, GDPR etc.)
- Self-motivated with strong organisational skill, the ability to prioritise in a multi-task environment and meet deadlines while working in a high pressure environment.
- A pro-active team player with the ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral and you are able to communicate at all levels.
- Fluent in German and Business English.
