As a Compliance Analyst, you would report to the Global Sanctions and Interdiction Compliance Manager and would be responsible for analyzing and assisting on cases involving global sanctions concerns according to global sanctions regimes as well as Convera’s internal policies. The role serves as mid-level client and payment screening support.
You will be responsible for:
• Problem Solving: Help identify root causes of unusual circumstances through sophisticated analytical and problem-solving techniques. Assist Sr. Compliance Analysts with development and proposal of variations in approach for creative resolutions.
• Issue Resolution: Resolve and assess a wide range of issues independently, using limited information and precedent to develop solutions. Your work will involve evaluating identifiable factors and choosing the best course of action.
• Compliance and Sanctions: Execute accurate interdiction processing for entities of concern, manage the Global Sanctions Advisory inbox for case assignments as well as ensuring Convera’s screening lists are accurate and reflect real-time changes.
• Risk Assessment: Assist Sr. Compliance Analysts with assessing sanctions compliance risks on a variety of case types. Provide accurate and detailed risk assessments to colleagues and management and escalate risk-based gaps to Compliance policy owners. Keep up with current events and industry trends to introduce recommendations for enhancing internal controls.
• Policy & SOP Adherence: Stay informed about Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and compliance policies. Utilize this knowledge to assess compliance risks and provide recommendations to strengthen internal controls.
You should apply if you have:
• Education & Experience: Minimum of 2 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree.
• Expert-level skills in prioritizing and managing mailbox inquiries, communicating clearly and concisely with internal and external parties.
• Basic understanding of a sanctions screening program, and ability to properly assess and process interdiction information quickly.
• Advanced skills in multi-tasking and prioritizing as well as meeting tight operational and risk-driven deadlines while maintaining quality and accuracy.
