Could you be our next Compensation Manager? Globe Life is looking for a Compensation Manager to join the team!
This role is responsible for managing Globe Life's strategic compensation function, including the design, implementation, and optimization of programs that attract, retain, and motivate talent. It is accountable for developing and revising compensation policies, procedures, and job architecture while ensuring alignment with the company's total rewards strategy and business objectives. It serves as a strategic advisor to HR and business leaders, ensuring compensation practices are competitive, equitable, and compliant, while partnering operationally with internal stakeholders to maintain job architecture integrity.
This is a hybrid position located in McKinney, Texas (WFH Monday & Friday, In Office Tuesday-Thursday).
What You Will Do:
- Lead the design, implementation, and governance of compensation programs, including base pay, variable pay, recognition, and job architecture.
- Conduct enterprise-wide market analysis to ensure competitive positioning and internal equity.
- Manager annual compensation cycles (merit, bonus, equity) in partnership with HR, Finance, and business leaders.
- Evaluate and enhance compensation policies, tools, and processes to drive consistency and scalability.
- Monitor the effectiveness of existing compensation practices and recommend changes that are cost-effective and consistent with corporate objectives and market practice. Lead the measurement and analysis of success against intended goals.
- Drive the cultural transformation and implementation of a standardized job architecture across the enterprise in support of strategic workforce planning and in alignment with leading best practices.
- Design creative compensation and incentive plan structures to drive desired objectives.
- Maintain and evolve the company’s job architecture, leveling framework, and job family taxonomy.
- Partner with HRBPs and business leaders to evaluate new and evolving roles, ensuring alignment with standards.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to HR and senior leaders on compensation decisions, pay strategies, and organizational design.
- Oversee the participation in salary surveys and monitor salary survey data to ensure corporate compensation objectives are achieved.
- Oversee job evaluation methodologies and ensure accurate classification, leveling, and FLSA determinations.
- Support internal audits, external benchmarking, and governance reviews,
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local compensation laws and regulations.
What You Can Bring:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in business, human resources, or a related field, and progressively responsible experience in employee compensation.
- At least 5 years of experience in a compensation, workforce planning, or similar HR role.
- At least 2 years overseeing a team or the execution of a similar program.
- CCP or other relevant certification.
- Workday experience a plus.
- SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) and certified compensation professional credentials preferred.
- Knowledge of all federal, state, and local regulations and compliance requirements related to employee compensation.
- Knowledge of laws and regulations as they apply to base compensation and incentive compensation programs, company policies, and operations.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret and communicate data.
- Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to use Microsoft products, including Excel.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to plan and set priorities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with senior management.
