Job Description:
The Community Resource Specialist will support the organization’s efforts to educate and enroll eligible individuals and families for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), working in alignment with the SNAP Outreach Partnership. This role will involve outreach in the community, partnership development, client screening for SNAP eligibility, assistance with the application process, and ongoing support to maximize food access and other community resources for low-income households.
Job Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Strong knowledge of the SNAP program and eligibility criteria is preferred (or ability to rapidly learn)
- Excellent communication skills — including the ability to present information clearly and engage diverse communities.
- Ability to build and maintain partnerships and collaborate with multiple stakeholders (non-profits, educational institutions, government, tribal organizations).
- Proficient in documentation and data entry; comfortable using databases and tracking outreach and enrollment metrics.
- Ability to travel throughout the community, conduct outreach at partner sites, events, and meetings.
- Commitment to equity, food security, and service to low-income populations.
