Working in partnership with the Managing Director and under the direction of the Regional Director, the Community Manager executes operational priorities, develops on-site leaders, and monitors community performance to support occupancy, financial, and resident experience objectives. This role serves as the operational leader responsible for executing the community's daily operations while supporting broader business initiatives established by the Managing Director.
- Lead and maintain accountability for the day-to-day operations of the community, ensuring operational excellence across resident experience, leasing, facilities, financial performance, and administrative functions.
- Provide direct leadership, coaching, and performance management to the team while promoting collaboration between office and facilities teams.
- Ensure alignment between resident experience and facilities operations by establishing shared priorities, facilitating communication, and promoting accountability across the on-site leadership team
- Execute community operating plans and performance initiatives established in partnership with the Managing Director.
- Monitor operational performance against occupancy, resident satisfaction, expense management, and service delivery goals, recommending corrective action plans as needed.
- Support execution of leasing and marketing initiatives through the Resident Experience Manager to achieve occupancy and renewal goals.
- Ensure consistent delivery of an exceptional resident experience through effective customer service, resident communication, and timely resolution of escalated resident concerns.
- Oversee facilities operations through the Service Manager to ensure:
Timely completion of work orders.
Execution of preventative maintenance programs.
Effective planning and execution of Turn.
Community cleanliness, safety, and curb appeal standards. - Monitor controllable operating expenses and purchasing activity to support budget adherence and operational efficiency.
- Coordinate operational execution of approved capital improvement projects while minimizing disruption to residents and community operations
- Review operational performance metrics and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity, and service delivery.
- Partner with internal support teams to resolve operational challenges and ensure compliance with company standards.
- Provide operational support for lease execution, collections, and delinquency processes while ensuring compliance with company policies and established procedures.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, Fair Housing requirements, safety standards, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
- Carries out supervisor responsibilities, including interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Coach, train and develop a team while managing the workflow and prioritization of projects and ensuring on-time execution and completion.
Living on-site is a condition of employment (i.e. required without exceptions) for this role. This requirement is for the business need of emergency response and on-call. Must be available to respond to emergencies as they arise, including those that occur after normal business hours. This position is subject to on-call rotation.

The ideal candidate for the Community Manager – Boston role is an experienced leader in student or multifamily housing (multifamily property management), hospitality, or a related environment, who can support day-to-day property operations, lead on-site teams, and deliver an exceptional resident experience. This role includes overseeing resident experience, facilities, leasing, and administrative functions while partnering with the Managing Director and Regional Director to support community performance.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- 2 years’ of progressive leadership experience in student or multi-family housing, or similar industry.
- Bachelor’s degree in business or relevant field preferred.
- Skills in leasing and marketing, customer service, facility management, budgeting, supervision, business administration, public relations, residence life, and a combination of business and student development skills.
