The Community Liaison is responsible for building referral source relationships in a variety of settings, including home health and clinics, and for supporting the Hospital’s marketing and communications initiatives to build community awareness of the Hospital’s programs. This position must integrate company values into daily practice.

Essential Functions

  • Develops relationships with potential referral resources, including physicians, case managers, and discharge coordinators. 
  • Maintains a territory as assigned by the Director of Marketing and Business Development (DMBD).  
  • Develops, implements, evaluates, and refines territory plans based upon data, trends, market needs, and Hospital needs. Uses specific market analysis data to help identify potential new business opportunities.
  • Facilitates marketing activities with community members, home health organizations, physicians, and other community resources.
  • Coordinates specific marketing and public relations activities such as exhibits at conferences, seminars/in-services, advertising, media relations, government relations, etc. as assigned by the DMBD.
  • Completes required trainings, as assigned.

Minimum Job Requirements 
Minimum Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field preferred
  • 2 years marketing experience in healthcare required

Required Licenses, Certifications, and/or Documentation

  • Must maintain acceptable driving record, current driver’s license, and insurability.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Demonstrates high ethical standards in selling company programs and services
  • Demonstrates an understanding of patient mix, regulatory requirements, reimbursement, etc. that impact overall hospital operations.
  • Demonstrates critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain professional relationships that drive referrals.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Physical Requirements Over the Course of a Shift

  • A significant amount of standing, walking, and driving.
  • Lifting/exerting of up to 25 lbs.
  • Sufficient manual dexterity to operate equipment and computer keyboard.
  • Close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to hear overhead pages.

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing or related field
  • 2 years marketing experience in healthcare
  • Must maintain acceptable driving record
  • Current driver's license
  • Insurability
