This is a visible, fast-moving role for someone who enjoys influencing action, maintaining momentum, and confidently following up even when the first response is “not now."

Job Summary

The Community Engagement Liaison is a relationship-centered, externally focused member of the Marketing and Communications (MarComm) team and is supervised by the Chief Business Development Officer. The position builds trusted community relationships, creates access to new audiences and partners, and converts engagement opportunities into measurable value for CK Family Services.

The Community Engagement Liaison represents CK Family Services in the community, conducts purposeful outreach, develops and maintains stakeholder relationships, and moves promising conversations toward clear next steps. Depending on assignment, the position may generate referrals for children’s mental and behavioral health services, foster parent inquiries, donations, resources, partnerships, access opportunities, or other defined value.

Key Outputs

  1. Achievement of established minimum production targets for documented referrals, foster parent inquiries, donations, resources, access opportunities, collaborations, community intelligence, or other defined value associated with assigned programs, initiatives, and strategic priorities.
  2. Purposeful execution and follow-through on approved engagement strategies that produce assigned outcomes, supported by established goals, performance information, coaching, and internal resources.
  3. Timely documentation and communication of useful stakeholder feedback, recurring community themes, barriers, opportunities, concerns, and other observations that may inform leadership decisions or adjustments.

Primary Outcome

CK Family Services consistently acquires the referrals, foster parent inquiries, donations, resources, access, collaborations, and community intelligence needed to advance assigned programs, initiatives, and strategic priorities.

Success Factors

Success in this position requires strong relationship-building skills, credibility, curiosity, responsiveness, sound judgment, and consistent follow-through. The Community Engagement Liaison must be able to understand stakeholder interests, identify shared value, and move conversations toward clear next steps and measurable results.

The employee must learn assigned CK Family Services programs and priorities well enough to represent them accurately, recognize useful opportunities, and remain within established authority. The position also requires comfort with clear production goals and a willingness to use provided tools, reports, coaching, and support to improve outreach and follow-up.

The Community Engagement Liaison must communicate useful community feedback, barriers, concerns, and opportunities to internal leaders and work effectively within a structure in which the Chief Business Development Officer provides direct management and the Director of Community Engagement provides functional leadership and guidance.

Support Provided

The Community Engagement Liaison is supported through established goals, approved engagement strategies, messaging, CRM workflows, reporting templates, performance dashboards, training, administrative processes, and access to internal subject-matter experts.

The Chief Business Development Officer provides direct management, priorities, performance expectations, accountability, and final direction. The Director of Community Engagement provides functional leadership, coaching, relationship-development guidance, and support for community-engagement activity.

The Community Engagement Liaison is expected to use these resources to remain organized, document important activity, maintain purposeful follow-up, review provided performance information, and improve results over time. Broader analysis, strategic prioritization, and organizational decision-making remain the responsibility of leadership.

Work Location and Environment

This position is based in the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex. The Community Engagement Liaison works primarily from home and/or from the employee’s location within the DFW metroplex while carrying out position responsibilities. CK Family Services provides access to shared workspace at its three DFW metroplex locations for optional use and occasional business needs. This position is not assigned to a dedicated office or permanent workstation. In-person attendance at a CK Family Services office is required only as needed for meetings, training, or other business purposes.

Position Schedule and Availability

This is a salaried position funded with the expectation of a full-time, 40-hour work week. The position generally operates with primary availability during traditional business hours; however, the nature of the work requires flexibility to perform work activities at times that support goal attainment and mission progression. Evening and other nontraditional work hours may be necessary based on candidate availability, meetings, events, and position demands. Performance in this role is measured primarily by achievement of assigned outputs and contribution to the position’s primary outcome.

  10. Communicate important stakeholder and community observations to the Chief Business Development Officer, Director of Community Engagement, and other appropriate internal leaders in a timely and clear manner.
