Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced and passionate Community Engagement Manager to play a pivotal role in building strong, respectful, and mutually beneficial relationships between Sodexo, our client, and the communities surrounding our remote operations.
This role is central to fostering community partnerships, supporting local employment and enterprise opportunities, and ensuring our operations create lasting social value. You will be a visible and trusted presence both on-site and within local communities—driving engagement initiatives, supporting events, and strengthening meaningful connections.
This position involves weekly travel to remote sites, with flexibility required to extend time onsite to support mobilisation and operational priorities.
Community & Stakeholder Engagement
- Build strong relationships with site teams, Elders, Traditional Owners, and local communities
- Act as a key liaison between Sodexo, clients, and stakeholders
- Ensure culturally respectful and inclusive engagement
- Maintain accurate records for reporting and compliance
- Support operational teams in delivering contractual outcomes
Partnership Development
- Review local businesses to identify opportunities to support Village and Camp projects
- Focus on engaging and supporting local Indigenous‑owned businesses, nurturing opportunities for growth and sustainability
- Promote Sodexo as a trusted long‑term partner within regional and remote communities
Employment & Recruitment
- Identify and promote local employment opportunities across casual and permanent roles within the Village
- Work closely with Sodexo recruitment teams to develop and execute local recruitment strategies
Indigenous Engagement
- Work closely with Sodexo’s indigenous affairs team on initiatives and community programs as required.
- Support Indigenous participation in employment, training, and supplier opportunities
- Ensure culturally significant events and initiatives are respectfully and appropriately supported
Events & Community Activation
- Plan and deliver community and Village events to a high standard, including (but not limited to):
- Australia Day
- Theme nights celebrations
- NAIDOC Week
- Encourage resident participation in community events and initiatives onsite
Opportunity & Project Development
- Identify local project and service opportunities
- Collaborate internally to deliver shared outcomes
- Prioritise local employment where possible
Governance & Reporting
- Ensure all contractual requirements related to community engagement are met and documented
- Monitor, evaluate, and report on community engagement outcomes and social value contributions
- Provide regular updates to site and contract leadership
- Ensure compliance with Sodexo policies, Indigenous engagement commitments, and client expectations
