The Local Media Team at TelevisaUnivision in Washington, D.C. is looking for a Community Empowerment Specialist to join our team!
This is a great opportunity for a strategic and creative thinker, a self-starter, and a collaborator willing to learn and share ideas that has a community relations spirit. Additionally, the role will actively support TelevisaUnivision’s CSR brand for local media.
This role will report to the Senior Director of Community Empowerment.

YOUR DAY-DAY:
- Lead day-to-day efforts for the CSR platform including campaign planning and recaps, website, and collaboration with all departments to support the Sr. Director
- Support and manage television and radio stations’ FCC files including quarterly reports, EEO file and annual reports, political files, as well as the children’s files
- Talent management; support Sr. Director with television and radio talent’s social calendars and community engagement
- Schedule and maintain TV/Radio PSAs in Wide Orbit and V-Creative
- Collaborate with promotions, sales, and news to execute community events
- Manage quarterly community events and logistics
- Communications: help create scripts, and other materials for local media
- Assist with station corporate initiatives
- Build and maintain current key relationships with community leaders, nonprofit organizations, political leaders, and the business community, to cultivate increased awareness and presence.
- Research companies and organizations for possible partnerships and draft agreements (nonprofits, foundations, companies, schools, government agencies.)
- Support Sr. Director with station corporate/employee engagement initiatives and events
YOU HAVE:
- BA Degree in Communications, Public Relations, or relevant experience
- Excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills (written and verbal)
- Strong public speaking skills and the ability to communicate with all levels of management, staff, and external parties
- Ability to work well under pressure, and multi-task in a deadline and revenue-driven environment
- Proficiency in PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
- Spanish bi-literate preferred
- Strong connection to the DMV area and community leaders.
- Willingness to attend evening and weekend events
- Experience in V-Creative and Wide-Orbit, and Smartsheet
- Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record
- Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States
