Healthcare Clinic Based Therapist

Ryther is a recognized leader in behavioral health services for children, youth, young adults and their families facing complex challenges. We are dedicated to providing comprehensive services and integrated care. We guide, coach and teach so that every child/youth and family we work with may experience new ways of thinking, develop positive relationships, and realize a better life.

Ryther is in search of qualified and experienced therapist to join our expanding team of multi-disciplinary professionals! We have a new position in partnership with Harborview Pediatrics, Seattle Housing Authority, and Seattle University. The position will work closely with partners to streamline services, and enhance outcomes for the populations served through a collaborative, client-centered approach. Experience with multi system collaboration is highly desirable.

Key job responsibilities include:

  • Work effectively with a diverse, low-income, medically and socially complex patient population using a strengths-based and culturally appropriate perspective.
  • Develop relationships and participate within the community to build trust and rapport with community members, leaders, and other providers.
  • Integrate into already existing programming with the intention of utilizing clinician expertise to reach community-led and individual client goals.
  • Co-design strengths-based, culturally appropriate groups in collaboration with the community to meet client needs.
  • Facilitate trust-building between clients and clinical systems as needed to help clients meet their needs and offer a continuum of support between the community and the clinic.
  • Work collaboratively with clinic teams to develop a new integrated behavioral health intervention.
  • Partner with clinicians to develop, test and deploy screening for common pediatric behavioral and mental health concerns.
  • Work with identified families and children to enroll and engage in a treatment intervention. This will involve tenacious and creative outreach to clients who may have little previous experience with mental health services.
  • Discuss goals of treatment and expected time commitment as well as participation by guardian and/or client.
  • Provide clinic-based services in accordance with the treatment plan.
  • Provide short term behavioral health services to clients and families. This includes engagement, therapy (skills based and problem solving), and prevention plans for future behavioral health concerns. Treatment may be provided in-person (in the clinic setting) or via telehealth. Some visits will require use of an interpreter.

Essential Job Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Psychology, social work, counseling, or related field.
  • Registered Counselor with the Washington State Department of Health (DOH). Full licensure or Associate license in Mental Health Counseling, Social Work or Marriage and Family Therapy is appropriate.
  • At least 2 years of experience working with children and youth in a community mental health setting.
  • Must provide own transportation.

You'll have the following benefits:

  • Medical/Dental Benefits (Premium covered up to 94% by Ryther, depending on plan, and we pay $5000.00 towards your deductible and out of pocket max)
  • 15 Days Paid Vacation (which increases to 17 after your second year, and by 1 each year after that)

  • 40% off Aflac supplemental insurance + free identity theft protection
  • 403b Tax Deferred Retirement Plan
  • $50,000 Life Insurance
  • Ryther is a registered 501c(3) which qualifies for the federal Student Loan Forgiveness program
