Metsä Tissue is currently looking for a

COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER

based in Mänttä to become part of our Communications Team in a permanent position.

What is the job that awaits you?

Join a collaborative, pan-European team of five Communications Managers working across Sweden, Poland, Slovakia, Germany and Finland. The team operates as a network that shares expertise and jointly shapes how Metsä Tissue communicates. You will work both strategically and hands-on: you will own selected company-wide initiatives and you will localize and implement projects led by colleagues in other markets.

Your key responsibilities

  • Country-level communications ownership. Plan and execute internal and external communications across intranet, newsletters, digital channels, events, media relations and crisis communications.

  • Executive communications. Provide communications support to VP, Operations, including messaging, materials and cadence planning.

  • Employer branding at the mill. Build and implement mill-level employer branding activities together with HR to support attraction and retention.

  • Strategic projects. Lead at least one strategic communications project for the whole organisation, and contribute to projects driven from other countries.

  • Content and channels. Produce and edit clear, audience-centric content in text, visuals and video, and ensure it fits the logic and requirements of each channel.

  • Measurement and improvement. Track outcomes, share insights and refine plans based on data.

  • AI in communications. Contribute to our early-stage use of AI, including LLM-assisted content creation and translation, and help define practical guidelines.

What are we expecting of you?

Digital communications moves fast and we expect you to move with it. Beyond delivering with high quality, you continuously improve how you work by looking for smarter tools, more effective formats and better processes, and you bring that thinking actively into the team.

You bring

  • Master’s degree in communications or a closely related field.

  • Working experience 5+ years in communications (internal, external or both). Experience in an international or manufacturing environment is an advantage.

  • Strong writing and storytelling skills in English and Finnish. You think across formats including text, visuals, video and data, and you understand the digital environments your content lives in, including platform logic, algorithms and channel behavior.

  • Proficiency with corporate communications platforms and the broader toolset of a modern communications professional, including content management systems, analytics, media intelligence and visual and video production. You do not need to master every tool on day one, but you are the kind of person who figures them out and then asks what comes next.

  • Proven experience leading cross functional projects and building communications plans that connect to business targets.

  • A curious, proactive and collaborative mindset.
